Controlling Pop-ups in IE Under Tools, Pop-up blocker– set it on

Under Settings, check “Allowed Sites” for unwanted websites

Under Tools, Internet Options Security tab – Restricted Sites,

Click Sites button, select site, click Add. Content tab – Content Advisor

Under “Approved websites”, list unwanted website & set to “Never”

Can set all content sliders to “Unrestricted”

Under Content, check “Block Pop-up windows” Click the Exceptions button, look for

unwanted sites. Under Security, check “Warn me

when sites try to install add-ons” Click the Exceptions button, look for

unwanted sites.

Controlling PUPs Control startup programs with

Windows Defender. Click Tools, Software Explorer. Click the “Show for all users” button. Programs are listed by publisher. Click “Disable” for the unwanted

program. Reboot your computer & make sure it still

functions OK. If so, remove the PUP.

box next to the unwanted program. Not recommended as permanent
