Convention Use Develop Challenge Was there an inspiration/similarity from real? HOW?

1. MES Main character is wearing normal clothes and Clown costume

x Normal clothes represents him as normal person during the day, to not scare people (especially children, his victim). This shows that people with psychological problems also looks as normal people We take inspiration from mini-series, as there was unstable person in Clown costume.

This is develop as costume goes from normal clothes to Clown costume. In psychological movies is normal that unstable person dress as someone else

2. CHARACTERMain character is unstable person (because of the trauma form childhood). Usually psychological movies involves people, who are unstable because of their past experience

xMost character in psychological movies are old, as they are mature and thoughtful

We take inspiration from mini-series, as there was unstable person in Clown costume

This is challenge, as this show that everyone can have psychological problems

3. LOCATIONSPark and outside block’s of flats x Opening sequence is starting at the park, public place.

Next scenes are outside victim’s house.

This develop as it starts at the park, where main characters spotted his victim and then is outside victim’s house, which shows his psychological problems, as he is persecutes/follow his victim

4. LIGHTENING At the beginning of opening sequence is day, but it finish at night

x During the day, main character – Clown, is looking for his victim

At night Clown is back for his victim.

Lightening is develop as it starts at day, where is natural light such as sun. Whereas ends at night where are artificial light. Also in flashback there is artificial light

In lots of psychological movies actions takes place at evening or night

2. EDITING Mostly medium pace, but sometimes slow pace x In lots of psychological movies they use medium pace to

create reality and slow pace to create a tension. Through slow pace, audience can focus on character’s emotions and feelings

3. MUSIC There are three different music x There are three different music in soundtrack

- One in during flashback – to shows audience that this is flashback, which can explain the psychological problems of main character

- During flashback, sounds of arguing – to show audience that main character had unstable childhood

- One main music through whole opening sequence to create tension and correct mood

In psychological movies is important to use good soundtrack, which can explain some aspect to audience
