The NHS and BT
BT has worked with the NHS for more than 60 years. It is now one of its largest suppliers of IT and communications services and has played a key role in supporting the evolution of the modern day NHS.
Undoubtedly BT’s most high-profile NHS work is on the NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT), the largest non-military IT project in the world. Set up in 2003, the programme supports the NHS to provide better, safer care by delivering computer systems and services which improve the way patient information is stored and accessed.
