a. 30” and 36” Diameter Screw Conveyors – Incorporate into affected drawings in CEMA Std. 300 – Screw Conveyor Dimensional Standards Need to direct Engineering Conference to work on drawings - Phil to send an email to OR’s on whether they can submit information.
b. Safety Video Review
Still needs to be approved. Kim to send email requesting changes by end of April or it is approved as it stands. - Reviewed the request for additional review that happened at the September meeting. KWS
and Summerlot needed more time. c. Bucket Elevator Design Guideline
- Garry gave a review
The Bucket Elevator Committee will submit cover choice that is presently in the ballot process at the Engineering Conference for the book and then present to the Joint Committee at Fall Meeting.
Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association
THE VOICE OF THE CONVEYOR INDUSTRY OF THE AMERICAS
- Whether to have a “book” to sell or just offer a .pdf of the Bucket Elevator book was discussed. Nothing decided. More discussion to follow
d. 300 and 350 Update
- Send out a plea for pictures to update the 350 engineering guide images. We are not changing any of the content. Mike Shea, Baldor, requested a list of pictures committee is interested in updating, he may have photos committee is looking for and Lyn Hamilton, Martin S&G says he is willing to draw any drawings that need to be re‐drawn.
- Discussion was had about using renderings in BD vs. pictures. - Phil Hannigan will send out invitations to view and share the files on Dropbox, a free desktop
file sharing program. If you wish to have one of your people see the files, submit that person’s name to Phil and he will issue an access invitation to that person.
e. Shaftless Screw Conveyor Safety, O&M Manual – Complete CEMA Std 353‐2014.
Free Download from CEMA Web Store – Free Downloads f. Inclined and Vertical Screw Conveyors
- The Engineering Conference will resume work on a Do’s and Don’ts type guide which has
been on the back burner for awhile.
5. Risk Assessment
Risk Assessment has had increased awareness in Europe within our industry in the past decade.
- Several years ago, CEMA agreed create a recommended Risk Assessment Process. - The result is the CEMA Technical Report 2015‐01‐ “Recommended CEMA Risk Assessment
Process”. It is available for free download from the CEMA Web Site’s Technical Downloads Page.
- This is the “recommended” CEMA Risk Assessment process…It is meant to be a generic reference.
- Page 1 of the .pdf document shows the generic process for risk assessment. - Each individual company will need to figure out what level of risk assessment best fits their
needs. - If used properly, it can serve as a great defense against potential issues related to safety
among others. 6. Membership Committee Representation
Membership can be enhanced by using Kimberly to create small brochures to help us promote CEMA to prospective companies.
7. Statistics
Phil reported that the statistics trends handouts he had previously provided will no longer be done since non‐participants in the Screw Conveyor Statistics program are usually present at these meetings and they are not entitled to have that data without participating in the program.
THE VOICE OF THE CONVEYOR INDUSTRY OF THE AMERICAS
8. Other Business
