Girls will learn how to create impactful marketing as they craft these cute cookie costumes

These handcrafted cookie costumes are attention grabbing sale builders. Customers just can’t resist the excitement surrounding a cookie seller in a handcrafted cookie costume. Just add a girl for the hands and feet! Then put on a Samoas birthday hat or fascinator as a conversation starter that will help close the sale!

Supplies � Cardboard, poster board or foam board (One 20” x 28“ x 3/16” piece can make two costumes) � One 24” wide roll of kraft colored shipping paper* � One 24“ wide roll of plain brown wrapping paper (glossy, if available)* � Glue (spray glue works fabulously - but any glue will do) � Purple or Green ribbon for sash (One piece 1-1/2” inches x 22” inches) � Purple, Green or Red ribbon for neck (One piece 1-1/2“ inches x 30” inches) � Cookie costume clip art (Samoas, Thin Mints and Tagalongs included) � Scissors � Stapler � Tape * Large rolls of glossy brown wrapping paper can be found at NashvilleWraps.com at a reasonable price. Or if you prefer, you can piece together tan construction paper in place of the kraft shipping paper for the cookie’s caramel background, and piece together dark brown construction paper for the chocolaty stripes).

Cookie CostumesSuper Simple DIY Cookie Costumes

Preparation � Cut the ribbon into 22” and 30“ pieces � Cut the cardboard into 20” x 14“ pieces (or into ready to use oval shapes) depending on skill level and time allotted for this activity. � Cut the kraft paper and the brown wrapping paper into 20” x 14” pieces. � Cut a few ovals for girls to trace onto their foam board and brown paper squares. � Make a copy of the cookie costume clip art, included below, for each girl (for best results print on card stock. or glue to a piece of poster board to add structure to pieces) � Make a sample costume to demonstrate project and to inspire girls

Tips:� To reduce amount of cutting you can draw your own name letters, eyes and mouth onto costume. � Help girls select a costume that fits their skill level and their desire to be creative. Tagalongs is easiest, Thin Mints requires a little more effort and Samoas requires the most creativity and detail.

� All: Trace oval template onto back of brown paper (and kraft paper too, if making a Samoas)

� All: Cut out brown oval (and kraft oval too if making a Samoas)

� Thin Mints and Tagalongs: Glue brown paper oval to foam board

� Thin Mints and Tagalongs: Decorate with clip art and ribbon

� All: Staple 30” piece of ribbon to back of foam board.

� Samoas: Glue kraft paper oval to foam board oval

� Samoas: Cut brown stripes from brown paper oval

� Samoas: Glue brown stripes to kraft paper

� Samoas: Decorate with clip art and ribbon sash.
