LOCATIONCoomera Anglican College is located at the rapidly developing northern end of the Gold Coast, just 45 minutes from Brisbane and 20 minutes from Southport. This makes both an easy commute for employment, business and recreational activities.

TRANSPORTThe College is well serviced by school bus transport, with several routes running throughout the surrounding districts and connecting to the nearby Coomera Railway Station. Routes run north through Pimpama to Ormeau, south through Helensvale to Parkwood, east through Hope Island to Runaway Bay and west to Wongawallan toward Tamborine Mountain. Students using the school bus services are supervised by staff within the College grounds until buses depart.

HOW TO FIND USThe College campus is only one minute from the Pacific Motorway, opposite Dreamworld. Travelling along the Pacific Motorway, take Exit 54 to Dreamworld and follow the signs to Days Road.

During this period staff aim to continueto develop in children strong literacy andnumeracyskillsandexcellentworkhabitsandattitudes, while fostering a love of learningnow and for the future. PREPARATORYThe First Year of School

Our Preparatory Programme has beenestablishedsincetheCollege inceptionandisthefirstyearofthePrimarycurriculum.Itisafullday,fivedaysaweekprogrammewherechildren begin their academic curriculum.Childrenlearnthroughallkeylearningareas,including: English, Mathematics, Studiesof Society and Environment (includingHistory), Science and Religious and ValuesEducation. They also experience eLearning,aswellasTheArts(Drama,MusicandVisualArts), Chinese and Physical Education withspecialist teachers. All learning areas aretaughtthroughstructuredclassroomlessonsintegrated with fun games and activitiesacknowledging the importance of play inearly education. Individual assessment andguidance along with small group activitiesallows children to learn at their own paceusingastyleappropriatetothem.

While themajorityofourstudentsaspire toenter university, great careers don’t alwaysbegin at university level. Students who aremoretradefocusedhavetheopportunitytostudy one or more vocational subjects or avocational course while still completing theQueensland Certificate of Education (QCE)to Year 12. This can be integrated into asimultaneousworkplacement,traineeshiporapprenticeship.

MUSICAll students from Preparatory to Year 7enjoy the benefits of music classes held inour purpose built performing arts facility. Arangeof skillsare taught frommusic theoryto singing and playing instruments. Smallgroupandindividualtuitionisavailablefromspecialistsinawidevarietyofinstruments.

Students progress to composing andanalysing styles of music before having theopportunity to select specialised musicsubjectunitsaselectivesinYears8,9,10,11and12.TheseniorsubjectMusicExtensionisavailableinYear12.

We participate in the Years 4-12 AssociatedPrivate Schools (APS) sporting competitionand all students represent the College inweekly competition in a variety of teamsports. Routes run north through Pimpama to Ormeau, south through Helensvale to Parkwood, east through Hope Island to Runaway Bay and west to Wongawallan toward Tamborine Mountain. Students using the school bus services are supervised by staff within the College grounds until buses depart.

HOW TO FIND USThe College campus is only one minute from the Pacific Motorway, opposite Dreamworld. Travelling along the Pacific Motorway, take Exit 54 to Dreamworld and follow the signs to Days Road.
