On top of this we were able to explore and experience the amazing medical labs used for training doctors and nurses- the computerised robot patients were very realistic- a little too realistic in some cases especially when they speak. This day attracted quite a lot of media attention as this is the first time this program has been run in Taree. A great day was had by all and I would like to thank everyone involved.

2-4 Orr News

Interview

Miss Loretan is a second year pre-service teacher

who joined our class (2/3/4) last week. We are all

very excited to have her with us until the end of

term.

What made you want to be a teacher?

My mum is a teacher and I always enjoyed helping

her with marking. I like to help people and by being

a teacher I am going to be able to help children

with their education.

Where did you go to school and what was your

favourite subject? Why?

I went to Cundletown public school and Chatham

High School. Math was my favourite subject

because there’s always a correct answer.

What university are you from? Do you like it.

I go to University of Newcastle, Port Macquarie

campus. I like it because it’s small so you get to

know everyone.

You have already taught us about articles

(a/an/the), introduced new spelling activities and

discussed choices we can make to stay safe

around roads. What lessons do you have planned

for us this week?

A couple of art lessons, maths and a fun science

lesson.

How many more years of study do you have

before you can come back to teach us again?

Two and a half years, some of you will still be here

but some will have moved onto high school.

What do you like most about our school so far?

How lovely all the students and teachers are.

You’ve all very kind and have welcomed me with

open arms.

Thank you for sitting with me today and helping us

get you know you a little better.

Interview conducted by BJ Rudd.
