Coordinating conjunctions practice - and, but, or, so This exercise introduces beginner students to the four basic coordinating conjunctions: and, but, or, so. Read the two clauses and instruct students to make a complete single sentence using the correct conjunction. Students must change the second clause if it is necessary. 1. I am cold. I put a jumper on. – I am cold so I put a jumper on. 2. I like cola. I like lemonade. – I like cola and lemonade. 3. I like listening to music. I like dancing. – I like listening to music and

dancing. 4. I don’t sing. I don’t dance. – I don’t sing or dance. 5. I can swim. I can’t ski. – I can swim but I can’t ski. 6. She is wearing a red dress. She is wearing blue shoes. (but, and) 7. He doesn’t like television. He doesn’t watch television. 8. We go on holiday in the summer. We go on holiday in the winter. 9. You can have water. You can have juice. 10. I like swimming.
