My weekend away
8th Letchworth Scouts
I think I speak for everyone when I say this weekend was a lot of fun especially when we did the
axing which I thought was fun. Also we did a play by the campfire in our patrols which was embarrassing when we had to sing at the end . After that we got some Frisbees and everyone played Frisbee netball and I caught two goals which Charlie threw at me. I also enjoyed the food
which we had to cook ourselves, my patrol cooked pasta but Claire cooked 4 bean pasta for me and her because we are vegetarians and it was delicious.

8th Letchworth Scouts went to Great Barford on a patrol camp . The
younger Scouts spent the weekend learning basic camping skills and working towards their Outdoor
Challenge, and the older ones went out geocaching as well as teaching the younger ones in their patrols

8th Letchworth Cubs Camp
Phasels Wood
Last weekend, twenty Cubs, two Scouts, one Young Leader, one CSL, five ACSL's, one ASL, one BSL, one ABSL and one parent went to Phasels Wood Scout Camp.
Friday 15th June 2012
On Friday we arrived at Phasels Wood. Once we had put our bag in our tent, we started to unpack. I shared a tent with Karen and Georgia. There was lots of room in our tent. After we had unpacked we explored the area where we were staying. We had a supper of hot dogs. When we
went to bed I was ready for a good night's sleep!
Saturday 16th June
In the morning once we had woken up, I got dressed and ready for breakfast. I really enjoyed the eggy bread! The first activity that I did after breakfast was the cresta run. It was very good
fun. The next activity was pot holing. I only completed the first one. After we had done those activities we went back and got changed. Once we had changed we had some lunch. Our first
activity after lunch was the zip wire. I really enjoyed this and it made me laugh. Then we had a drink and some cake :-) Once the others got back from the cube we waited a little. Once we had waited we went off to do the crate stacking. I was the first person in my team to do this. I
managed 17 crates high. Rebecca got the highest in my team with 19 crates. Once we had finished we went back for dinner. For dinner there was sweet and sour chicken. I had pasta and cheese!! After dinner we went on the pedal karts. I went on a pedal Kart with Rebecca, Karen
and Gabriel. When we had finished our turns, we went back for hot chocolate and hot dogs. Then we went to bed.
Sunday 17th June
After we had woken up and had our breakfast, we went back to our tents to pack. After we had
packed, we helped to put the tents down. I enjoyed helping and it was the first time I had put a tent away. We went to the indoor climbing wall. While we were on the climbing wall, it was moving. I kept falling off! After we had finished that activity, we went to find our parents to go
home.
Thank you so much to all of the leaders for a fantastic weekend. I had so much fun.
