SymptomAdditional parameters for the optimizer are to be implemented.
Other Termscopt10, optimization, profile
Reason and PrerequisitesProfiles are normally used to set the parameters for the optimizer in SAP Advanced Planning andOptimization (APO) or SAP Transportation Management (TM). All parameters that control theoptimization run and that are released for standard systems are implemented in this way. However, there are cases when the optimization consultant or SAP advise you to implementadditional parameters. These parameters are usually for improving system performance orimplementing custom behavior.Important:Only implement parameters that have been recommended by your consultant or by SAP. Never use aparameter if you are unsure or because you have read or heard about it in another context.Parameters that are relevant for a large group of customers are provided in the optimizationprofile. Customers receive additional parameters to adjust functions for their specificrequirements. If used by other customers, these settings often have a negatice effect on systemquality or performance. We therefore only publish the parameters in the optimization profile.

Transaction /SAPAPO/COPT10 is used to maintain additional parameters up to APO Version 5.1. Inhigher versions and in TMtransaction RCCF_PARAM is used. In these transactions, the additional parameter is set dependingon the application used by the optimizer, the optimization server and the optimization profile. Each line in the displayed table represents a parameter that is transferred to the optimizer asan extra parameter.
Application and optimization server
Using the "module" attribute, select the application in whose optimizer you want to add theextra parameter. In addition, select a connection to a suitable server under the "Identifier"attribute.Typical setting for PP/DS: Module: Detailed Production Scheduling Identifier: DPS01Typical setting for SNP: Module: Supply Network Planning Identifier: SNP01If you do not select an identifier, the parameter is sent to all optimizers of the relevantmodule.
Dependency on profiles
A parameter is always sent to the optimizer if no profile is specified. If the parameter has aprofile and an optional Customizing ID, the parameter is only sent to the optimizer if theoptimizer is called with this profile.
Parameter structure
A parameter is identified using the two entries 'Section' and 'Name'. The 'Section' is oftendescribed with square brackets. For example, [dps]DummyParameter describes the parameter withSection="dps" and Name="DummyParameter". A type specification is also set for a parameter in the"Switch" attribute. In this attribute, the parameter can be specified as a string, a Booleanvalue, a floating point number, or an integer. Finally, assign a value for the parameter. To do this, enter a value in the fields "Char.string', 'Integer' or 'Float. Pnt', depending on the type specification. If the type 'Boolean'is set, use the 'Char. string' field. 'X' stands for true and no entry stands for false.Ensure that the case of the letters is correct in the fields 'Section', 'Name' and 'Char.String'.You may also add a short text to the parameter. This is for maintenance purposes only and is notanalyzed by the system.
For example:
1. SAP requests that you add the integer parameter [da]answer=42 to each PP/DS optimizationcall. You only use one optimization server in its default state.Insert a line with following values: Module: Detailed Production Scheduling Identifier: DPS01 Section: da Name: answer Switch: Integer Integer: 422. In the SNP Optimizer, the boolean value [dummy]dummySkip is to be set to true for the callusing the 'abc' profile. Maintain the following values: Module: Supply Network Planning Identifier: SNP01 Profile: abc Section: dummy Name: dummySkip Switch: Boolean String: X
