3 basic steps: create the form letter or mailing label create the database, spreadsheet, or

text document containing the names and addresses with each field corresponding to a variable in your form letter or label

Inserting Sounds/Movies as an Object

First select “Object” from the Insert menu. If new, for sound, choose wave sound. If existing, click the “Create from File” tab.

Automated Webpages and Websites

There are 3 basic ways to create “automatic” webpages in word:

1. Simply “Save As” webpage 2. Open a new document as a

webpage template 3. Use the Web Page Wizard

Saving as an HTML or Webpage

Choose Save As from the file menu. In the “Save as type” drop down menu, choose “web page” or “html” if you have an earlier version of Office.

Web Templates and the Web Page Wizard

CAUTION: Word generated web pages can be unreliable in browsers other than Explorer. It adds special MS codes that are not read by browsers like Netscape. Netscape’s “Composer” is free with Netscape, fairly easy to use, and generates much “cleaner” html code.
