WHAT IS IT
The USF Sarasota/Manatee STEM Summit introduced approximately 120 middle school girls from the local area to a variety of STEM concepts from biology to technology. Raytheon presented 6 unique workshops and activities during the summit.

The USF Sarasota/Manatee STEM Summit reached out across the local community.
›› Serving the local community
- all girls- ages ranged from 7 to 15 - 73% either 12 or 13 years old- 137 girls registered- 41 schools represented - 3 counties represented
WHY THEY CAME
›› Filling a need
Girls attending the Summit came- to have fun (87%), - to learn more about math and science (60%), - to help them do well in school (51%),- to learn about different majors in college (49%), - and to meet others with similar interests (44%).
