The Evolution of TechnologyProvided Opportunities for Growth for a Global Population

The search for food for an ever-increasing population drove prehistoric man to create more efficient means of gathering and storing food supplies.

*Today we can trace the evolution of technology from the ancient hunter/gatherers to farming to modern, complex food production and distribution processes.

Much of the evolution of technology can be traced back to our need for more efficient methods of food production.

Understanding the DrivingFactors in the Evolution of Technology

a. The need for survival of large human populations drove the development of more efficient hunting and farming tools.

b. Protection of these large population groups required improvement in the construction of shelter.

c. Additional protection of these large population groups from other marauding tribes required improvement in the development of weapons technology.
