From the Principal

What a Term it has been with lots of wonderful learning experiences for our students including swimming, City Art Experience excursions, an Art Show and a Father's Day evening as well as several sporting activities and lots of successes in classrooms.

It is time for everyone to take a well-earned break to recharge, so we can move into the final term of the school year with the same energy and vigour as we had at the start of the year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank firstly our dedicated staff who work tirelessly to provide your children with the best possible education available. Thank you also to our Parent Club for all their hard work throughout the term and also

to our families for the support you give the school and your children every single day. It is marvellous to see so many parents really engaging in their children’s learning and taking the time to read with them and ask questions about their experiences at school.

Wishing all of our families and community a safe and enjoyable school holiday break. Take the opportunity to relax and spend time with family and friends and we look forward to seeing you next term.

Hoping the Mighty Tigers continue with their winning form when they play Collingwood tomorrow night and cheering them on in their efforts to win back to back Premierships in the 2018 Grand Final!

A reminder that school finishes at 2:30 tomorrow. Any student who has not been collected from school by 2:45 will be placed in after school care at your expense.

HOLIDAY READING The school holidays are almost here…. make sure you have something to read over the school holidays by visiting the Coral Park Community Book Swap. Have a browse through the bookcase in the MPC foyer, which is full of novels, magazines and books. The Book Swap

service is available to parents, friends, caregivers, older siblings and staff. Feel free to borrow some reading material from the Book Swap and return it to the bookcase when you have finished with it. Enjoy a variety of different books and show your kids how much you value reading. Be a great role model while doing something relaxing and healthy!

SEPTEMBER TO MAY… NO HAT, NO PLAY

It is now Sunsmart season, so make sure you keep your hat in a safe place over the holidays ready for term 4. School hats are available from the office for $10 each. Make sure you also stay Sunsmart over the holidays when you are enjoying time outside.

CANTEEN The canteen will be open tomorrow for snack and lunch orders, as well as over the counter sales. Please be aware that the canteen will not be open on the first Monday of term 4. The canteen will re-open for term 4 on Friday 12th October.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP Middle school camp takes place at Phillip Island Coastal Discovery Camp next term. It is wonderful that so many of our middle students have returned their permission slips to attend camp. Numbers now need to be finalised so tomorrow is the last opportunity to return your permission slip if your child is going to go on camp.

Please continue to make payments at the office, as the camp needs to be paid in full by the first week of term 4. School camp is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn new skills, participate in team building activities and experience new adventures in a safe and supportive environment away from home.

2019 SCHOOL PLANNING Please make sure you have enrolled your child for Prep if they are beginning school next year. We would also appreciate notice if you are planning to move schools next year, so we can make well informed decisions on future

planning. Accurate student numbers help us plan for staffing and resources to ensure our students get the best education possible. Forward planning enables a smooth transition at the beginning of 2019.

J1 & J2 worked hard on their creative pieces for the Art Show and enjoyed learning

about different artists and art techniques.

It is lovely to see so much colourful artwork displayed throughout the school and

great to keep hearing positive feedback from our Art Show which was held last week.

J1 & J2 have also enjoyed working on a range of

numeracy activities in the classroom.

These colourful rainbows show ‘bonds of 10’, helping

students learn which numbers can be added together

to make 10. eg 10+0, 9+1, 8+2, 7+3, 6+4, 5+5...
