Booking Information

Booking opens on 13th and 14th June

9am - 1pm and 2pm – 5pm

Before you call:

Please know which activity stream you want to join – see details of activity streams below. It is not possible to move from one activity stream to another.

You can only book children onto a stream with an accompanying adult. Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.

There is no charge for any of the activities or lunch. (Voluntary donation bucket onsite for Novas a voluntary organisation and Approved Housing Body working with families and single adults who are

disadvantaged and socially excluded; primarily those who are homeless or at risk of being homeless).

Places will be allocated to Cork Kerry Community Healthcare staff on a first come first served basis. Any unallocated spaces will be offered to staff from SSWHG in Cork &

Kerry.

After booking if you find that cannot attend please cancel your registration to enable staff member to take your place. Please email notice of cancellation to:

TRALEE BAY WETLANDS over 5s STREAM A, B, C & D

Park at Tralee Bay Wetlands Car Park. An overflow car park will be in operation at Fels Point car park adjacent to the Rose Hotel.

Register at Tralee Bay Wetlands 09:30 - 10:30. Event access bracelets and lunch vouchers will be issued at registration.

Children must be aged 5+ for these activities

Children must be supervised at all times. We cannot take responsibility for supervising children.

Rowing Boats Hop into a rowing boat and row around the activity lake and island. Suitable for 9years +. Seats 2 persons and life jackets and instruction provided.

Pedelo Boats. Take to the water on a pedelo boat and set your own pace as you cruise around with family or friends or test your time and stamina by racing around the island! Pedelo boats are a great way to enjoy some time out and fun for everyone to enjoy! Seats 5 persons, children 8years and under must be supervised. Life Jackets fitted and provided.

Orienteering Using co-ordinates on a map, you and your team are looking for markers and to beat the clock! Are men or women better at reading maps? Why not settle the score once and for all with a group of your friends or colleagues?

Zorbing Enjoy the aquatic life as you struggle in the bubble! Perfect for those aged 5 to 105, this activity is a crowd pleaser. Laugh at your friends tumbling in the soft ball while you wait your turn and find out how tricky it is! (T&C apply please see suitability and safety note on p13).

Team Games Can you work as part of a team to beat our devilish challenges? Learn just how well you work together with our team games, perfect for children and adults alike.

Rock Climbing Reach new heights with our Outdoor 30foot rock climbing & bouldering area suitable for children & adults. Suitable for both experienced and inexperienced climbing abilities. Various coloured climbing lanes available with varying degree of difficulties. The wall is auto belayed and this activity is supervised by our instructors to ensure the utmost safety & fun! Persons must be over 5years. Closed flat shoes required.

Mindfulness

Slip away to the Tower for a 20 minute mindfulness session with Norah Twomey Cork Kerry Community Healthcare MHS. There is no booking for this session but times are as follows 10:30, 11:15, 12:00, 12:45 & 1:30

Pond dipping Scoop up some secrets with our educational pond dipping,

perfect for all ages. Peer into the world of newts, frogs, water

boatmen and all of the underwater critters. Even the smallest

pond has a fascinating amount of life hidden within it, and this

activity, will introduce people of all ages to a world many have

never glimpsed before. Delve into our wetlands ponds with

hand nets and let one of our guides fill you in on what makes

this underwater world tick.

Happy Talk Led by Cork Kerry Community Healthcare Speech & Language Therapists, Happy Talk is a language development project that works with young children and their parents in an informal play setting. This activity takes place inside the visitor centre and involves playing games and having fun with Nibbles the Happy Talk Bunny

Self-Guided Nature Tour Walk With the aid of an audio guide explore the wetlands nature area on foot and visit our bird hides, nature board walk and view over 60kms of views from our 20metre viewing and observation tower overlooking Tralee Bay. (don’t forget your camera or phone) This area offers an opportunity to become one with nature and you will spot birds, view wetland habitat, flora and fauna and learn the secrets of the local area. How are badgers and Queen Scotia linked?


Gymboree Play & Music Appealing to children’s sense of fun and curiosity this session will support active exploration through play and music. This activity will take place outdoors in the bus park which will be cordoned off.

Stand Up Paddle boarding Stand up paddle boarders stand on flat boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water.

Kayaking Come and try out our sit on top kayaks and have some fun while enjoying the scenery of the Tralee Marina & Canal. Kayaking is a great activity and is suitable for all abilities from beginners to pros.

Rowing Tralee Rowing Club will offer a come and try event with experienced oars people to guide you. Rowing takes place in a sleek, narrow boat on the water.


Team Games These are fun filled activities for all the family where you can try to solve puzzles, have a laugh, meet new people and discover different skills. These are tailored to suit everyone and build trust and leadership in a team environment.


Archery Tag All the fun of paintball and dodgeball is combined. This offers the newest family friendly sport that can be played by all ages. It utilizes archery with foam tipped arrows to play the game. All in all providing you with the perfect opportunity to take out your friends or work mates.

Parkrun Tralee Town Park

Register online http://www.parkrun.ie/register/ Print the bar code and bring it with you. (Bar Codes on phones are not accepted) Please register participating children over the age of four. Children aged eleven and under must be within arm’s length of a supervising adult. A first timers briefing is at 9:20 , briefing for regular Tralee parkrunners just before the run begins. Buggies welcome, Dogs on short lead welcome (one per adult).

The 5k course in Tralee begins at 9:30am and comprises 3 laps of Tralee town park There is no entry fee.

Lunch will be served outdoors, please bring a picnic blanket as at times there may not be seating for everyone.

Registration Registration is at 2 different locations. Please check you activity stream to know where to Register. After registration you will be directed the first activity in your stream.

All Tralee Bay Wetlands activities & registration will take place on site between 9:30 & 10:30 (Streams A,B,C,D,W,X,Y,& Z)

All other activities will register between 10:30 & 11:30 at Tralee Harriers opposite Fels Point Car Park (Streams K,Q,R&S)

At registration you will get a Healthy Ireland Bracelet to identify you as a participant, lunch vouchers and if you bring children, bracelets to be worn by children with mobile

number of accompanying adult. Please supervise children at all times.

Parking If you are registering at Tralee Bay Wetlands please park there. Once the car park is full cars will be diverted to Fels Point Car Park.

If you are registering at Tralee Harriers please park in Fels Point Car Park.

Stewards will be on hand to direct cars – please follow their instruction.

What to Bring

Prepare for all weathers. This is an outdoor event and will proceed come rain or shine.

Rain coats / umbrellas / shoes that can wet / runners for climbing wall / change of clothes / towel / sun cream/ sun hat/ protective clothing / sunglasses

All equipment will be provided, so no need for wet suits

Please pack a snack and some water, some activity streams will be active for 3 hours before the allotted time for lunch.

A picnic blanket

Mobile phone for parent accompanying children

There is no charge for any of the activities or lunch.

Zorbing

THE MAXIMUM WEIGHT PERMITTED IN THE ZORB IS

90KG / 198 LBS / 14 STONE

MINIMUM AGE IS 5 YEARS OLD

Please note that water zorbing is not suitable for people with the following conditions:

Heart problems

Asthma / Breathing difficulties

Claustrophobia

Epilepsy

Back or neck problems

Any other physical or mental conditions which may impair your ability to use the zorb safely

Injuries which may be aggravated by using the zorb

Impairment due to the influence of alcohol or drugs

Please let the zorb attendant know if you have any concerns regarding another issue before using the zorbs

Also please note the water zorbing is not advisable during pregnancy
