Cornell SCAVMA Mission
1. To foster a united school spirit and to provide support of issues for the benefit of students within the College.
2. To provide opportunities for members to gain additional professional knowledge and an understanding of professional ethics.
3. To provide the students the benefits offered by the American Veterinary Medical Association to its Student Chapters and the advantages of belonging to a professional organization.

4. To support, facilitate, and encourage student, faculty, and administration involvement in activities of benefit to the overall personal and professional growth of the general student body.
5. To develop the characteristics of leadership through training received in conducting the Chapter's affairs.
6. To foster and maintain relations between the students, College, University, surrounding community, American Veterinary Medical Association, and New York State Veterinary Medical Society.

Provides $50 to help cover travel fees, registration etc. for student attendance at professional meetings (except SAVMA Symposium)
Available to SCAVMA members in good standing
Can be used once an academic year
Applications are submitted prior to travel
Reviewed and approved by Treasurer-elect
Philanthropy Fund
Provides assistance to either attend, contribute or organize a philanthropic event
Open to individual students, student groups or external organizations
Applications are received by the Philanthropy chairs and reviewed by committee
Awards are based on budget provided by applicant and committee assessment
MEOW Fund
Provides financial assistance to other veterinary student clubs for student events
Applications are sent from and received by Student Activities Chair (MEOW fund chair)
Applications are reviewed and voted on by student committees comprised of student club presidents
Meetings/Awards are disbursed twice a semester
Annual budget of $8,000 ($3,000 from SCAVMA)
Corporate Policy -SCAVMA’s role Policy drafts provided to Executive Board
Members for review and feedback
Acted as facilitator between student body and administration - organized Q&A session
