FRIDAY, August 29thThe Relicswww.therelicsdekalb.comTalk about a decade of great music and

tons of change! 1960 was the year we saw a “new” Elvis. Fresh out of the Army and so refined. No longer could he be referred to as “the hillbilly cat”. Sideburns were gone and his voice was perfect! The 10 years covered songs from artists of all styles. We saw huge hits from single artists: Johnny Tillotson, Bobby Rydell, Brenda Lee, Dion, Johnny Cash, Brian Hyland, just to name a few, and hey, look at the British invasion: The Beatles, Rolling Stones and of course, tons more: The US groups like Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Turtles, Gary Lewis & The Playboys....it never ends! Get the Idea? The music of the 60’s is endless!

The Relics is a band of veteran musicians who grew up in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. We love this music and love playing. We bring you songs that bring back some great memories. Our objective is to “keep the party goin’”, and play tunes that most bands pass over.

Well, this kinda gives you an idea of what we’re all about, but don’t just sit around on your computer reading this stuff....come on out and dig the sounds of The Relics....we’ll rock your socks off!

DOUG THOMPSON is a veteran guitarist/ vocalist. This guy’s played in a number of bands around the DeKalb/ Sycamore area for most of his adult life. Most will remember him with the band Night Shift, but he’s been seen with others...He cut his teeth on music from the late 60’s and 70’s, but loves to do it all.

RACHEL McPheeters is one of our lead vocalists with a passion for 60’s music. We first heard her at different venues, “kicking butt” on karaoke night and walking away with first place trophys. With so many girl groups that graced the charts back “in the day”, why pass up the opportunity to include some of those tunes in our playlist.

RON HOYLE has been with a number of bands in the past, including “Band of Brothers”. He plays “killer bass” and has been into the local “rock scene” for a long time.

JOHN “Zeke” HILL is the guy on drums and back up vocals. You’ve most likely seen him in other bands like “Blue Stone” and “The Back Alley Prophets” just to name a couple. He loves playing and loves the 60’s music.

JIM SMITH plays dynamite keyboards. His last band “County Line Band” played around this area for a number of years. Jim has played in numerous band over the years and is well versed in 60’s music.

GARY HILAND began his career as a “one man band” playing clubs and lounges. You might know him from the bands TCB,

Buckshot, New Bizness and Deep 6. He is one of our lead vocalists, and really tears it up on tambourine. This guy absolutely loves the 60’s music!

Audiodrivewww.audiodriverocks.comAudioDrive is a powerful Rock Act that

brings one of the best shows in the region! They shine with excellent vocals, killer guitars and a thunderous rhythm section that knows no bounds! The song selection is clearly pre-meditated to satisfy the masses. AudioDrive delivers only the choice cuts from the 70’s & 80’s through today! Their sets are loaded with “Melodic Harmonies & Screamin’ Guitars”... Once you have experienced an AudioDrive show you surely appreciate their hard work, attention to detail and relentless drive for perfection! The band invites the audience to become part of every show... from dancing on the stage to singing with the band every night is filled with energy and excitement! “Our fans are loyal and they continue to grow and support every event”! You owe it to yourself to experience a Live AudioDrive Show and enjoy all that great music of our youth recreated just how it was meant to be!! Bottom line... AudioDrive Rocks!

Red Woodywww.redwoody.comSince its inception in 1999, Red Woody

has been redefining what a cover band is all about. There were a couple things we wanted to focus on that would separate us from the other cover bands in the area. First…… play songs that the people want to hear. We felt there were too many bands playing solely 80’s rock, or just classic rock. Red Woody’s philosophy-there are great songs from every decade, why not play them? Some of the Artists we cover are Journey, Matchbox 20, Bon Jovi, the Strokes, Bryan Adams, Goo Goo Dolls, AC/DC, Mellencamp, Counting Crows, O.A.R., Poison, Skynyrd, Metro Station, Petty, Nine Days, the Stones…..In a word….diversity. Secondly……we wanted every show to be a party. At a Red Woody show, we want you to feel like you are in the front row of your favorite concert. Have fun!!! We know that free time is sometimes limited, and there are a lot of choices you could make as to what to do with your Saturday night. If you choose to spend it with us…..know that we are going to do everything in our power to help you let loose and leave that daily grind behind. Questions still?? Just come out and see a show!!!!!

Johnny & The Boomerswww.johnnyandtheboomers.netWhen you mix together the musical styles

of Ray Charles, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf it creates an awesome combination, but when you sprinkle in a healthy dose of Paul Butterfield - you’ve just created Johnny and the Boomers.

Big Daddy Woo Woowww.bigdaddywoowoo.netWe are a Party Band just having FUN. We

love to make people dance and have a good time. So if dancing, shaking your booty and just plain having a good time is what you like to do, then we’re the band for you. Playing all the “Funky” standards from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s! The band has shared the stage with “Earth, Wind & Fire”, “The Barkays” , “KC and The Sunshine Band”, “Confunkshun” and “Zapp”, also played with members of “The Time”.

Lizzi Neil Bandwww.lizzinealband.com

2012 and 2013 RAMI Award Winner - Blues Artist of the Year!!

The Lizzi Neal Band from Illinois is blues with kick of TNT. Paralyzing Blues Rock with Soul on Top. The Best Music Cookie you ever ATE. If Etta James and Steven Tyler had a baby you would have “The Threel” Lizzi Neal

Lizzi’s vocals are so incredible you will struggle with every emotion you have all at once. Lizzi comes from music in her blood; she grew up listening to her dad play and sing everyday. She isn’t just a singer; it’s like listening to a finely tuned instrument. You can hear so many influences in their music, but it still remains original just to them, they have a sound all their own. Dave has been playing guitar since he was 13 and you can hear a mix of blues, country and rock in his playing. Jason IS the best bass man around, mixing his love for blues, funk, and rock, he is untouchable. John brings everyone together by being a true leader and a force to be reckoned with.

Chicago Sixhttps://www.facebook.com/pages/

Chicago-six/367155390074476When the band played its first show, on

Dec. 10, 1987, the Chicago Six consisted of three Bears — Dan Hampton, Walter Payton and Dave Duerson — and three Chicago Blackhawks - Troy Murray, Gary Nylund and Curt Fraser.

Hampton played bass, Payton was on drums, Fraser and Nylund played guitar, Duerson played horns and Murray was on saxophone. They shared singing duties and covered a number of different rock artists. The band played on and off during the offseason for the next couple of years, during which time Wilson replaced Murray on sax.

These days, Hampton recruits former Bears Otis Wilson and Steve McMichael, along with

four other musicians to make a seven-piece band. Hampton said audience members can expect Wilson to sing some Motown hits from the Temptations and Smokey Robinson, and McMichael to sing some Hank Williams Jr. and ZZ Top songs. Hampton said he’ll be singing some Eddie Money and John Mellencamp tunes.

“I’ve never met an athlete that didn’t want to be a rock star or a movie star,” Hampton said. “And I’ve never met a movie star that didn’t want to be an athlete. We’re going to have fun and we’ll be prepared and have a lot of good music.”

American Englishwww.americanenglish.comAmerican English is simply the best Beatle

tribute story of our time. At the inception of the band, they were voted “number one” by thousands of Beatle fans as winners of sound a like contests at Beatlefest® for three consecutive years. Their demand here and abroad, coupled with their spectacular fan base, anchored them into a professional setting, and launched them into larger venues and theatres worldwide.

American English has shared the stage with musical headliners such as The Grassroots, The Neville Brothers, Three Dog Night, The Ides of March, Eric Burdon, The Buckinghams, The Doobie Bros., Badfinger, and many others.

With the band’s increasing success, American English hit the international scene in 1999 making their debut in Tokyo. Their appearance hit the press and initiated a major article in the upscale Japanese magazine “Lightening,” causing “American English Mania” in Japan. The frenzied crowds in Tokyo reacted as though they were seeing the real thing!
