The Ed Lumley Arena boasts a superior infrastructure including a variety of lighting options,

state of the art rink boards and seating for up to 5800 people. Over the years it has played host

to the World Junior Exhibition Game, Royal Bank Cup, NHL hockey, professional ice skating

championships, as easily as it has welcomed such international stars as Nickelback, Great Big

Sea, Riverdance and Celebration on Ice. Trade shows, circuses, and the Special Olympics are just

a sampling of the diverse events that have taken advantage of the 150,000 sq.ft. climate

controlled facility.

However, the Civic Complex is much more than a simple arena. With many meeting room

combinations totaling an additional 23,000 sq.ft., the Complex also serves as a major

convention centre in Eastern Ontario. Situated in a picturesque waterfront setting at the edge

of Cornwall’s downtown shopping district, the Convention Centre can easily accommodate

events ranging from small meetings to large weddings and conferences. Attached to the east

end of the Civic Complex is the Cornwall Aquatic Centre. This beautiful facility houses a world

class pool along with a water slide, toddler leisure pool and whirlpool.

Ed Lumley Arena World Junior Exhibition Game, Royal Bank Cup, The Air Canada Cup, Jr. World Curling

Championships, Skate Canada. These major international events have all seen action in this fully

equipped arena which seats 4800 people. Concerts allow the seating capacity to expand to

5800 and you can host a grand banquet for 1000 guests.

The entire facility covers 150,000 square feet

with an NHL size 85’ by 200’ removable ice

surface. The acoustical ceiling is 43 feet. The

ancillary area offers 7 large dressing rooms

plus a deluxe professional team room. In

addition, there is a weight room, trainer’s

area and two offices. The entire area is

covered by protective rubber matting.

To complement the arena, we offer a fully

equipped box office and can handle ticket

production and sales with ease.

The Details Accessibility The arena has 2 main entrances and 4 additional exit doors. The Arena floor can be accessed by a 12' x 14' loading door. Box Office The Box Office is located on the main concourse with 3 ticket stations. Online ticket distribution is available. Climate Control The entire facility is fully air conditioned with a recent $1.2 million upgrade. Dance Floors Two large permanent and one portable dance floor are available for use. Disabled Access The building is completely barrier free. Handicap washrooms are available on every level. Electrical Main location (Ice level, east end). Balanced true 208V, 800 Amp. 3 phase 5 wire system. Secondary location (Centre roof area). 208V, 400 Amp. 3 phase 5 wire system. There is also 110-120V, 208-240V and 347-6—V single and 3 phase power available throughout the building. The Complex contains over 21km (13 miles) of wiring. Elevators Passenger elevators are located at the East and West ends of the complex and both have service load capacities. Floor Load 200 lbs. per sq. ft. (91 kg. per sq. m.) Food Services There are 6 concession booths, full in-house kitchen, and a full service licensed restaurant on site. Fist Aid An emergency phone is available at ice level and a defib unit is in the building. First aid room is on site and serviced by St. John’s Ambulance.

Lighting The arena lighting system is made up of 30 overhead high bay 1000 watt fixtures and 36 side 1000 watt flood fixtures delivering 120 foot candles at ice level. The arena is also equipped with a quartz light dimming package. Parking There is free on site parking for 600 vehicles with additional parking nearby. Press Boxes 2 press boxes with 4 camera platforms and the capacity for 36 broadcasters. Full catwalk 43' above the arena floor. Rooms Supporting the arena are 7 full size dressing rooms, 1 deluxe dressing room, 1 weight room, 1 trainer’s room, and 2 offices. All of the rooms come equipped with non-skid protective rubber matting. Scoreboard 4 sided electronic board with rotating message centre. Seating 4788 fixed seating with an additional 932 portable on ice seating. Security On-site security present 7 days a week. Video cameras on all levels. Additional security will be arranged upon request. Sound System High output arena speakers are mounted in a centre cluster. Additional low output speakers in concourses and all meeting rooms. Staging Movable and adjustable staging to 40' x 60' with additional show ramps and risers. Storage 2000 sq. ft. covered along with unlimited uncovered storage areas. Ushers Ushers are available for all functions.

Aquatic Centre This beautiful facility houses a world class pool along with a two-storey water slide, toddler leisure pool and whirlpool. The Aquatic Centre is used in a variety of ways, including birthday parties, swimming competitions, lifeguard training, aqua fitness programs, and therapy programs for disabled persons. Convention Centre

Attached to the Ed Lumley Arena, the Convention Centre is

capable of accommodating events ranging from executive

board meetings to full scale conferences with hundreds of

delegates.

Our meeting rooms are tastefully appointed and can handle

groups from 10 to 600 people.

Equipment is but a request away. The Convention Centre

has a range of audio visual aids, flip charts and marker boards to suit your meeting

requirements.

Anyone looking to book at the Cornwall Civic Complex for events of any kind, including

weddings, conferences, trade shows & birthday parties, will be given a list of registered caterers

that they can choose from. Clients will pay the current room rental rates to the Cornwall Civic

Complex, and then the client can negotiate a deal with a caterer of their choice (from the

registered list) with no percentages paid back to the City.
