Client: Marg Ltd.

Location: Karaikal, Pondicherry

Type: Berth Construction, Marine Infrastructure project.

The job involved the construction of 1200mm dia Bored Cast in Situ Piles varying from 45m to 63m depth. The berth was 350m

long and 33m wide including additional berthing area for the first transfer house of conveyor gallery. The precast Beams were

erected using End on Gantry Method. Weight of some of the precast hollow sections varied between 30 – 32 MT each. The Berth

has been constructed to handle vessels of the size of Panamax carrying coal to the port. The Challenge in the project was the time

period in which it was executed.

Value add : The project was completed in 16 months.

Project : Construction of RCC Jetty on Bored Pile Foundation

Client: Government of India, Ministry of Shipping, Lakshadweep Harbour Works

Location: Eastern Minicoy Island, Lakshadweep

Piling Length: 4000 Rmt

The location of the work done was very close to the 10 degree channel. The currents were very high and due to this the swells and

waves were generally 4 – 5m high. The length of the approach was 230m and the approach was constructed on 800mm dia piles. The

Berthing face is 130m long supported on 1100mm dia piles. It is a fair weather jetty which is operational only from October to June.

Challenges experienced during construction the cyclonic conditions the waves come over the berth and impacting the precast beams.

The project was completed within 32 Months.

piles. The depth of the pile was between 22-25m and all the piles were socketed in

hard rock. The job was executed for Hinduja Power Project (HPP) where BHEL was

the EPC Contractor and our client Power Mech Projects Ltd. (HNPCL, VSP) was

awarded the above mentioned job.

This Project was executed under EPC Mode in which the authority is ALHW

& M/s. Srishaila Constructions is the EPC contractor . The jetty structure

consists of 100 M X 15 M superstructure resting on 800 mm dia RCC BCIS Piles.

The independent engineer appointed by the Authority is Prof Gokul Mandel

Of Jadavpur University , Kolkota.

This work has been completed in 16 months including Design, Approval &

Execution. Execution.

Works in Hand

•Construction of Coastal Berth at Chennai Port Trust - 739.5 M INR. This work consists of construction of RCC deck capable of

taking 18 Ton / Sq M Live Load. The sub structure consists of 1500 mm dia RCC BCIS piles. The work is executed under

M/s.Srishaila – GDCL JV where in Srishaila is the lead partner executing the Marine Works costing almost 77% of contract value.

•Construction of RCC Jetty & Navaids at Baratang in A & N Islands - 140 M INR. This work has been awarded as EPC Contract and

work was executed in 16 months including Design submission & Approval.

• Construction of Liquid Cargo Handling Jetty (Outer Terminal-II) On the river Hoogly at Haldia Dock Complex – 742. 277 M INR

Work awarded under M/s. Srishaila – Unison JV where in Srishaila is theLead Partner. LOI received, awaiting site handing over for

construction.

•Construction of North Cargo Berth-III at V.O.Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin) on EPC mode – 365.236 M INR

•The work in progress & 40 % of work has been completed.
