Games Weekend!-  March 2014. The Games take place on a Friday and Saturday. !-  A couple of sports will possibly start Thurs evening (F.ball – Cricket)!!-  The main venue will again be the American University in Dubai. !-  3 events do take place off campus, though very close by (Dragon Boat at

the Internet City lake, Golf at the Emirates Golf Club, and Cricket at Wellington School).!

!-  All the main team and individual sports (see detailed list)!-  Men, Ladies and Mixed Categories (see detailed list). An over 40 yrs

category in some competitions.!

!-  Teams consist of company employees.!-  No restrictions on the number of sports entered, nor on level.!-  Some restrictions on the number of teams / individuals entered per sport.!!!-  Enjoy the Sponsors’ hospitality quarters.!-  Open Buffet dinner on Friday evening.!-  Children’s play area and special spectators competitions & activities.!-  The event ends with the Games Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening.!

The Venues!

American University in Dubai - TECOM!AUD will be the main venue featuring the majority of the competitions. The Dragon Boat race will be held at the adjacent Internet City lake.!!

9-hole par 3 Faldo course, across the highway from the University.!!

!Wellington School!

Cricket & badminton will be hosted on the facilities of the school located opposite Mall of the Emirates on Sheikh Zayed Road!

Football – Men and Ladies categories!7 a-side, half-size pitch, 24 minutes matches, rolling substitutions, squad up to 12 players, minimum of 3 matches in group stage, group winners and runners-up advance to knockout stages.!

Basketball (and 3 point shootout)– Men and Ladies categories!Regular 5 a-side competition, regulation court, 24 minutes matches, squad up to 12 players, minimum of 3 matches in group stage, winners advance to knockout stages. Also 3point shooting contest.!

Volleyball – Men and Mixed categories!Beach volleyball court or grass court, 4 players on court, best of 3 sets to 15, rolling substitutions, group stage winners advance to knockout stages.!

Cricket – Men!7 a-side, 6 ball-overs per team, taped ball. Straight knockout format..!

Sports Rules & Regulations!

Dragon Boat - Mixed!No prior experience required. Steerers provided. 10 to 16 paddlers , with at least 3 ladies. Guaranteed 2 races at least. Course is 250 meters. Boats, paddles and buoyancy aids provided. Best 3 heat Smes advance to the final.



Tennis, Squash, T.Tennis, Badminton – Men and Ladies categories!Knockout format. !

1 set in initial rounds. Best of 3 from ¼ finals onwards!

Swimming – Men and Ladies categories!Free Style. 50 & 100 meters races. Mixed Relay race. Heats with best times qualifying to the FINAL.!

Running – Men and Ladies categories!Various distances (100, 400, 1500) as well as mixed relays. Heats with best times qualifying to the FINAL.!

Golf – Men and Ladies Categories!Par 3 – individual competition!

Tug of War - Mixed!Teams consist of 7 members. Minimum of 3 ladies on the team. Best of 3 encounters. Knockout format.!

Competition awards: Trophies and medals for 1st , 2nd and 3rd place in every event.!!Excellence Award presented to the organization with the most entries, recognizing their focus on fitness & well-being.!!Best Performing Company Award presented to the organization accumulating the most points in the Games.!
