We have an offer for your organisation.

As you will know, consumers, clients and the public react positively to businesses with a strong social conscience.

Pan Intercultural Arts not only embodies this but also offers many opportunities for staff engagement, volunteering

opportunities, innovation workshops, wellbeing and mental health benefits.

Pan represents the very best of the charitable sector. In forming a partnership with us and our inspirational programmes

your organisation can benefit from being part of the vital social engagement which is at the core of our work, helping

members of communities which are marginalised and disadvantaged.

The talents of our highly experienced artists and facilitators have enormous use for your employees in enhancing

professional skills and sparking creativity and innovation. Their potential in bringing depth and enjoyment to a business is

outlined in this package so that you can see how you could benefit from them. Employees’ experiences with us will be

transferable back into your organisation, helping to make a richer and more collaborative environment.

You can buy into individual elements, or develop a longer, fuller relationship with Pan. We would be happy to work on it

with you.

Following is a menu of activities which we offer for your staff.

To talk about these offers, the form of relationship you would like to establish and how you can arrange

sessions for your staff and members, please contact us. We can meet you and organise a programme to suit

your needs.

PERFORMANCES & PRESENTATIONS

OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU

THE AMIES FREEDOM CHOIRAs part of their rehabilitation and their rebuilding trust in others, female survivors of trafficking joined the Amies

Freedom Choir to learn the vocal skills and discover the confidence to sing joyfully together and share songs with each

other and with the public. The choir has sung at the Old Bailey, City Hall, King’s Place and for BNP-Paribas UK and the

Euromoney awards. They can sing at your events and bring their very special magic to you.

RAP YOUR CAUSEWhy not let our rapper create a rap for your event? When challenged to rap on World Environment Day he created

two thoughtful but rousing vocal pieces which brought the issues to the audiences in a new and unforgettable way. Rap

for Social Change, Rap for Awareness Raising?

He can do it for you too!

MOTIVATIONAL PRESENTATION ABOUT PAN AND ARTS FOR SOCIAL CHANGEPan staff and artists give an exciting and illuminating presentation about the work the company carries out with Survivors

of Trafficking, Young Refugees and Young People close to criminality, as well as talking about the overseas work in conflict

and natural disaster zones. With video clips, stories and statistics they remind us of just how powerful the arts are in

changing people’s lives and providing the tools to reflect on alternative paths.

Staff engagement and volunteering opportunities are key to positive and healthy workplaces.

By helping Pan develop and implement its work your employees are enriching themselves. By working outside of the

everyday routines new ideas will emerge, new ways of working and new approaches to benefit everybody.

While we cannot invite large numbers of people to come and take part in activities, there are many ways to use your

skills, time and contacts to further our cause.

CHALLENGE EVENTSPan has already organised sponsored London to Brighton bike rides and has persuaded brave friends to jump from planes

in sponsored sky-dives. We offer you the chance to get yourself and your work colleagues taking up challenges that

otherwise you may never have considered.

Whether it is running a marathon, cycling to Paris or trekking to far-off places, you can get the massive satisfaction of

undertaking the challenge, achieving it and raising money from your amazed friends and impressed workmates!

ONE-OFF EVENT VOLUNTEERINGA few times each year Pan has public facing events. These could be performances by our participant-groups, art auctions

to raise money, or benefit evenings. We can offer you the chance to join the team in making these events a success. It

would involve one planning and preparation meeting shortly before the event and, of course, the event itself, which would

be a weekend or evening. This is a chance for you to work alongside us and promote what we do and wind down with

us afterwards.

SPECIALISED SKILLSThis is a way to help employees develop their own specific skills by working on a project outside of everyday routines.

These can open up opportunities for collaboration and innovation that can then be taken back to the office.

Here are a few examples but we would love to hear from you and develop new ideas:

» Could you help develop marketing tools for Pan?

» Are you an app developer? Could you develop an app for our participants?

» Are web developments your thing? We would love to have you create an online portal to spread our working

methods nationally and internationally

» A strategist? How about serving on our development committee where we welcome a range of people who can

bring their networks, experience and ideas to the table

» Digital Giving – a chance for you to develop an easy way for your colleagues to donate to Pan, e.g. at a contactless

point or where they buy their coffee. We don’t know how to do this. Do you?

USABLE SKILLS FORTHE WORKPLACE

SESSIONS FOR WELLBEINGAND CREATIVITY

WORKSHOPS BY OUR ARTIST FACILITATORS

PRESENTATION SKILLSEver had to stand up and pitch or report to a room full of people, or a panel of decision makers? Were you nervous, even

terrified and then thought you could have done better?

This workshop takes you through steps to reach a calm, engaging way of presenting yourself and your ideas.

It includes working with you on the fascinating area of body language. You have probably heard that complex impressions

are made within the first few seconds of first seeing somebody. And many researchers have concluded that our body

attitudes and signals are more important and have more influence than the words we choose. This workshop unpacks

body language so that you can be aware of your own, and alter it if you so desire, and so that you can consciously observe

others and be aware of your “reading” of them.

After this you will look at everyone differently!

Given by a facilitator who has spent many years working in theatre, has trained speakers for the World Economic Forum,

Clinton Global Initiative and the UN. Come out of it knowing how to prepare yourself and how to deliver.

TEAM BUILDING - GROUP DYNAMICS In most of our lives there is so much time spent just concentrating on the “me, me, me!” perspective, that the modern

working world doesn’t give us space to remember that we exist as part of a greater, complex network of people.

Reconnecting with the trust and enjoyment of being, dialoguing and developing with others is a life enhancing element.

You are not alone. Others are there to support and value you, to spark ideas and help overcome obstacles. This session

reinforces the power of the group, of sharing leadership, of valuing everyone and learning from them.

Be greater than the sum of the parts…..

Be powerful together!

LED BY PAN’S EXPERTS

VOICE AND SINGING FOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELLBEING . Using the voice correctly for speaking and singing has many health benefits. The posture needed to produce a clear

and strong sound allows the body to free itself of tension. Learning full and effective breathing has the added benefit

of oxygenating the blood which in turn energises the body and mind. Research shows that group-singing synchronises

heart beats and the act of singing together can be instrumental in group bonding which, in turn, is useful for colleagues

who find themselves working as a team.

This is a great way to contribute to your company’s wider health and wellbeing provision.

This session is led by our choir director, a registered music therapist.

DE-STRESS, HAVE FUN AND SMILE!Members of our team of facilitators who work with young people with major problems have developed games to let go

of the cares and pressures of everyday life and enjoy the moment. Leave your cares (and tensions) at the door and be

drawn into games and exercises which will leave you wanting so much more and smiling as you leave.

All research shows that if we lose our playfulness we lose our ability to re-imagine situations, to think laterally and to

discover the new. Playfulness really is at the base of creativity and innovation.

So (re)learn to play in that carefree way we used to as children but with all the experience we have as adults and we will

enrich our lives, our ideas, our work and, oh yes, we shall have more fun!

I found your facilitation and way of being approachable enticing and I wanted to be led by you.

– Participant in a professional workshop session

Thank you for being so masterful at creating a safe space and helping us speak a new level of truth.

When people are heard they don’t fight so much.

– Dr Mojisola Adebayo (associate artist)

The arts and the theatre are the only place I can feel heard.

– Refugee participant

We run arts workshops, extended community programmes and public events for those who are often not heard in society

and we achieve results through the process of creativity rather than the production and presentation of performances.

This is ‘Arts for Social Change’ and not ‘Arts for Art’s sake’.

These projects:

» Empower individuals in marginalised communities

» Encourage social harmony through increased respect between communities

» Rehearse alternatives to negative futures faced by many people today.

» Bring fun and enjoyment to those whose lives have little of it

Our beneficiaries are our participants in these projects:

» unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (the Future projects)

» young adult refugees escaping from torture, conflict & prejudice (the Fortune projects)

» female survivors of trafficking living in safe houses (the Amies projects)

» young people close to criminality and violence, often in Pupil Referral Units (the Weapon of Choice projects)

Almost all our participants experience anxiety and the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Each year we engage approximately 500 young people in creative development and leadership programmes and over

2000 audience members through performances and publications. In the last year Pan delivered over 273,000 participant

hours of workshops and events.

We invest in participants over long periods of time so that they can become strong, independent individuals and leave us

because they are ready to, not because the project ends.

Pan operates from its office near London’s Russell Square. Our programmes and events are delivered through outreach

work in partner organisations’ centres or by hiring space in local community or cultural organisations. Pan has four

permanent staff and a pool of artist/facilitators employed per project.

Pan also has a strong history of reacting to requests for projects across the world, in post-conflict and post natural

disaster zones, or where there is great social inequality. We train trainers who then take on the work using their

knowledge of the cultures and languages of the participants. These include work in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar,

South Sudan and Switzerland.

PAN INTERCULTURAL ARTS (PAN) WORKS ACROSS

ETHNIC, CULTURAL AND FAITH BOUNDARIES TO

ENCOURAGE UNDERSTANDING, INTEGRATION AND
