• North Sumatran Basin – Proven hydrocarbons – Mega fields EG Arun – Multiple play types
• Under explored area due largely to civil war
• Majors only looking for mega fields
• Large inventory of prospects and leads left by Mobil following merger with Exxon
• Extensive seismic coverage – data quality good but can be improved with modern processing
• Existing under utilised infrastructure - 6 LNG trains, pipeline network and LPG fractionation
• Very high gas prices based on existing LNG contracts
• Increasing local energy demand – can not be met without new development
• Strong relationship with Aceh government and local stakeholders
Why Aceh?
The Aceh fertiliser plant is in close proximity to the Pase field and has a large unmet demand for natural gas

Pase Field – Reserves Estimates
• In January 1989, DeGolyer & McNaughton produced a certified reserves report (pre production and major seismic data acquisition):
− Proved Reserves: 56.15 Bcf
− Probable Reserves: 89.29 Bcf
• In 2003, a 3D geomodelling study conducted by ExxonMobil suggested
an estimated GIIP of the Pase fields to be most likely 590 Bcf and remaining reserves 119 Bcf
• The current BPMIGAS reserve estimate is ~ 75 Bcf
