Since its establishment in 1941 as a manufacturer specializing in opticalglass, HOYA has always strived to provide cutting-edge products. HOYA isnow expanding its business fields from glass products for semiconductormanufacturing and for HDDs to eyeglass lenses and contact lenses, andfurther to the medical field including medical endoscopes.

Supporting HOYA´s boundless enthusiasm is its commitment to becomethe leading company in niche markets with creativity and innovation.This is HOYA´s philosophy, which has been passed down since itsestablishment. Under HOYA’s “company-with-nomination committees” management system, business decision makings areaccelerated by giving executive officers authority to manage business. At the same time, three committees -Nomination, Compensation and Audit - were established, with all members being independent directors at HOYA,to ensure the effectiveness of management supervision by the Board of Directors. Adopting this system enables usto clearly separate the execution and supervision of corporate management. We aim to ensure efficientmanagement and improve the overall soundness and transparency of management.

Medical Endoscopes

With a wide array of products, including videoscopes and fiberscopes, and high-quality after-sales services, PENTAX contributes to diagnosis,treatment, and medical research in diversedepartments.

Hydroxyapatite is a chemical compound that isvirtually the same as the constituents ofhuman bone. Hydroxyapatite implantation issafe, and over time, partially resorbed andreplaced by natural bone.

Metallic orthopedic implants are used to platea broken bone. The products use titanium ofsuperior strength and biocompatibility whichencourages early rehabilitation of patients.

Eyeglass Lenses

HOYA´s unparalleled technologycreates a profoundly clear visionexperience for the progressivelens wearer.

Laparoscopic Surgery Instruments

Microline laparoscopic surgical instrumentsintegrate disposable and reusable functionsthat enhance performance, reduce cost andimprove patient outcome.

Intraocular Lenses

An intraocular lens is an artificial crystallinelens used in cataract surgery. HOYAmanufactures and sells lens injection systemsthat facilitate surgery, along with soft, foldableIOLs that can be inserted through extremelysmall incisions.

“Eyecity,”the largest chains ofcontact lens specialty stores inJapan, is known for providingthe lenses best suited for eachcustomer, and in the broadselection of products from topbrands around the world.

They are the master plates used totransfer the minute, highly complexcircuit patterns for semiconductors ontothe wafers that become IC chips. HOYAcovers from leading-edge development,to commoditized products with itscutting-edge technology.

Photomasks for Liquid Crystal Display

LCD photomasks are the master platesthat are used in the manufacture of theLCD panels for large flat televisions, PCmonitors and smartphones. HOYAprovides high-definition, high-precisionLCD photomasks.

Glass Disks for HDDs

Hard disk drives (HDDs) which are found innotebook computers must have the abilityto withstand vibration and shock in orderto prevent data loss. Glass memory diskswhich HOYA developed have superiorshock-resistance characteristics.

Optical Glass and Optical Lenses

HOYA provides glass with the opticalproperties demanded by the market.The data on glass composition includedin the database amounts to as many as50,000 pieces. Around 100 of them areused for the lenses that HOYA currentlyprovides.

Colored Glass Filters

HOYA provides colored glass filters for awide range of fields such as cameras,optical instruments, physics and chemistry,educational materials, industrial andmedical, with spectral characteristics andsize according to the requirements. Wealso manufacture and sell electronicglasses mainly used in the electric andelectronics industries.

Laser Equipment and

UV Light Sources

Laser oscillators are used in defectcorrection and highly precise processingin the production of semiconductorsand flat panel displays. The ultravioletlight sources are used to cure UV resinsin the bonding of optical parts andelectronic components.
