The energy consumption in both 2009 was reduced by41% and the heating energy consumption by 87%

The eco-store’s ventilation technology was completelyrenewed. The new system reduces the air intake by 75%whilst maintaining the same quality

The building’s electricity supply is covered byhydropower, and the approx 900 m2 photovoltaic systemon the roof and façade produces in the region of 93.000kWh of electricity a year. This supplies the C&A eco-storewith renewable energy, which means that the whole shopis CO2 neutral

The first CO2 neutral C&A eco-store opened in Mainz [Germany] in 2008. The building[1961] underwent an energy-saving refurbishment, a photovoltaic system installed andefficient ventilation provided

in relationship to a number of Sustainability factors

Over 400 stores, some two-thirds of the entiresales area of C&A Europe, are already beingsupplied with renewable energy

C&A already managed to save around 100.000tonnes of CO2 in 2008. By 2010, more than200.000 tonnes per year was saved in relation to2007

An environmental friendly lighting system will beused in more than 700 stores in Europe by middle2011. 262.000 lights will be replaced in Germanyalone. This will help to save around 12 million kWh[compared with its former lighting system]
