Intelsat’s CSR strategy focuses on the communities in which we operate and prioritizes issues that are of utmost importance to our stakeholders and where we, as a communications company, can make the greatest impact. Intelsat’s CSR approach focuses around the following priorities:
People.
Intelsat’s employees are dedicated and passionate
about developing advanced space-based technol-
ogy providing connectivity that makes a meaningful
difference to communities and businesses around
the world. Intelsat is committed to good governance
and providing a culture where employees can
continue to advance their skills, engage with fellow
employees and reach their fullest potential in their
careers while maintaining a good work-life balance.
Community.
We use our technological expertise and partnerships
to make an economic as well as social impact in the
world. From bridging the digital divide to providing
e-health and e-medicine and offering training to sat-
ellite engineers around the world, Intelsat believes
in being a part of the communities it operates in and
strives to make a positive impact.
Environment.
Intelsat aims to provide leadership in the identifi-
cation and promotion of sustainable practices and
services that reduce the company’s environmental
impact, educate and engage staff and create a more
environmentally sustainable organization.
Marketplace.
We strive to constantly innovate and leverage our
satellite technology, supply chain and ecosystem
partnerships to effect positive change. We work
closely with mobile network operators around the
world to ensure that businesses and communities
have access to affordable and high-quality connec-
tivity needed to support their business needs and
socio-economic development.
Our CSR objective is to develop innovative space-based technology that solves
complex communications issues, invest in our people and in educating and training
technicians that can help accelerate the reach of broadband connectivity to even the
most remote communities, maintain an environmentally friendly office environment
and empower people in the communities and regions in which we operate.
It is often said that information is power. Broadband con-
nectivity and video distribution are conduits of information
and very often, conduits of positive economic and social
change.
Space-based communications has been at the heart of
the many information and innovation revolutions over the
past five decades. I have witnessed first-hand the power
of satellite connectivity and the tremendous impact it can
have on a community.

As a global company, we take our mission seriously.
Envision…connect…transform. Innovative space-based
technology has the ability to transform lives. It has been
our mission and our goal since our inception. By continu-
ing to advance our technology, we can help accelerate
the economic and societal growth in the communities we
collectively serve. We do this through our business prac-
tices, our people, the transfer of technical expertise in the
regions we serve and collaboration with our customers
and members of the satellite ecosystem.
As space communications become more widely integrat-
ed with the global communications infrastructure, it is
more important than ever that we work together to build a
more digitally inclusive society, maintain a safe and clean
environment through cooperation and information sharing
and ensure that the technology we are bringing to market
makes a meaningful difference in lives around the world.

Governance & Ethics
At Intelsat, we are committed to doing business at the highest levels of integrity and
transparency. This section provides additional insight to Intelsat’s governance and un-
derscores our commitment to strong corporate governance practices. Our ethics and
governance policies guide all our CSR initiatives, as well as how we interact and con-
duct business with stakeholders across the world.
Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
Intelsat’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
sets forth the high standards of ethics and integrity
required of Intelsat’s directors, officers, employees,
contractors and agents when conducting business
affairs on behalf of Intelsat. Each employee is re-
quired to complete compliance training each year
which includes comprehensive training on the Intel-
sat Code of Conduct, Global Anti-Bribery Laws, Data
Protection Essentials, Safety and Security and the
Intelsat Employee Handbook.
Data security and privacy
Protecting the personal data and privacy of all Intel-
sat personnel and customers is of the utmost impor-
tance to Intelsat. Intelsat has adopted formal data
protection policies that are in full compliance with
applicable data protections laws and regulations.
Our data protection policies regulate and set forth
the principles of Intelsat’s use of personal data and
advise Intelsat personnel of their rights and responsi-
bilities with respect to their personal data.
Intelsat Anti-Corruption Compliance Program
Intelsat is fully committed to complying with the
anti-corruption laws of all countries in which we do
business. To monitor the company’s compliance, In-
telsat established an Anti-Corruption Oversight Team

pliance with applicable anti-corruption laws. Intelsat
employees receive compliance and anti-corruption
training yearly to ensure their understanding of, and
compliance with, applicable export control and trade
compliance laws and regulations. At all times, em-
ployees may contact the Intelsat employee relations
hotline, anonymously if desired, and/or the General
Counsel, to report any known or suspected com-
pliance issue, including violations of the company’s
anti-corruption policy.
Contributions to political parties
All approved political contributions from Intelsat
are made through a non-partisan Political Action
Committee (PAC) which is strictly compliant with the
requirements of the Federal Election Campaign Act
and the Regulations of the Federal Election Commis-
sion (FEC).
Setting high standards with Supplier Chain
Intelsat’s standard procurement practices require a
written commitment from the suppliers that they will
comply with applicable laws, including anti-corrup-
tion, diversity and equality of employment, employ-
ment laws and environmental regulations.

Since its founding as an inter-governmental organization in 1964, Intelsat has fostered a diverse and innovative
culture built around a shared mission to deliver connectivity to communities and businesses around the world.

we serve. The dynamic nature of our business requires that Intelsat provide an innovative culture where
employees are able to obtain training to keep them ahead of changing market and technology demands,
as well as enable our people to reach their full potential.
Our employment practices and policies comply in large part with the principles of the United Nations and
International Labour Organization. In particular, we strictly follow the following principles:
•prohibitingchildandforcedlabor;
•ensuringnondiscriminationandequalopportunity;
• supportingaharassment-freeandviolence-freeworkplace;
•prohibitingretaliationoranyformofphysicalormentaldisciplinarypractices;
• respectingworkers’righttofreedomofassociation;
•ensuringcompliancewithlawsgoverningworkinghoursandwages;and
•promotinghealthandsafetyatwork.
Since its founding, Intelsat has endeavored to build an inclusive and diverse culture where everyone feels
welcomed, respected and valued. In 2018 we backed our commitment to Diversity by adding a Key
Performance Indicator, reported to the board, around Diversity with a goal to increase Minorities in the
US and Women worldwide, by 3%.
Intelsat ensures that all applicants and employees are treated fairly and considered for positions based on
job related criteria and without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable law.
Intelsat also has a number of programs in place to ensure that it is meeting the current and future interests of
the company’s diverse, multicultural population:

Employee Development
The communications landscape is highly competitive and dynamic in nature. Highly skilled and engaged
employees are critical to Intelsat’s mission of leveraging the latest innovations in space-based technology to
positively impact and transform our customers’ businesses and the people that they serve. Recruiting, retaining
and developing the next generation of leaders in the communications industry — across disciplines – is one of
our highest priorities.
Intelsat has an active and robust career development program which enables all employees to designate
career paths and positions for which they wish to be considered. We provide opportunities for professional
growth and advancement through company-wide initiatives such as our mentoring, leadership coaching,
rotational and stretch assignment programs.
We launched a new learning platform in 2018 that aligns with our focus
on employee development and we had over 1,000 employees enrolled
in various courses. On the job training is also provided to all qualified
employees to assist them in developing the necessary knowledge and
skills for promotion to higher level jobs.
Intelsat partners with outside firms to develop management curricula
for our front-line managers and supervisors. For example, in 2018, we
launched a Frontline Manager Cohort Group which consists of nine-
teen (19) new or recently promoted Managers from our Operations
business unit. This cohort learning experience is uniquely designed,
addresses specific management skills identified by our Operations
senior leaders and at its foundation is a two-day interactive manage-
ment course facilitated by the American Management Association.
This cohort experience extends over a six-month period and its
members will be exposed to multiple learning engagements that are
instructor-led or online and the group is encouraged to connect
with one another for guidance and support.
Intelsat’s Mentoring Program: Development, reten-
tion, and engagement of high performing and skilled
employees is critical. Intelsat’s Mentoring Program
provides an opportunity for team members to gain
advice, guidance and expertise from more seasoned
leaders from outside of their functional area. This
program is open to all employees. For the 2018 /
2019 program year, 18 employees across various
disciplines were paired with mentors.
Intelsat’s Leadership Coaching program focuses on
developing individual and team leadership acumen
and organizational awareness skills to all manage-
ment levels. In 2018, 20 leaders had the opportunity
to participate in leadership coaching, approximately,
9% of the eligible leadership population.
Intelsat’s Stretch Assignment Program: The pur-
pose of Intelsat’s Stretch Assignment Program is to
target development, retention, and engagement of
key employees. Fundamentally, a stretch assignment
project is meant to “extend” an employee beyond
his/her current knowledge, expertise and/or comfort
level in order to develop professional capabilities.
The assignment is meant to challenge an employee,
expose him/her to fellow colleagues, projects,
systems and tools to promote on-going learning
and development. In 2018, there were eleven (11)
completed stretch assignments with seven (7)
assignments currently in progress.

team members the opportunity to thank and cele-
brate their peers, and it allows managers to rec-
ognize and reward their staff with rewards points,
which can be redeemed for gifts. Spot Beam
recognitions can be made at any time.
Employee survey
Intelsat cares about what our employees think and
strives to cultivate an energized and engaged work-
force. Intelsat conducts employee engagement sur-
veys on a regular basis and quarterly ‘pulse’ surveys
to all employees. Once the findings are released,
employees and leadership work collaboratively to
develop action plans to build on successes and ad-
dress areas of improvement.
Occupational health and safety
Intelsat is committed to compliance with all applica-
ble laws and regulations regarding workplace safety
and health, including the Occupational Safety and
Health Act. Every effort is made to reduce the possi-
bility of accidents and hazardous conditions, and In-
telsat provides facilities, equipment, procedures, and
other resources to support those efforts. All Intelsat
employees are encouraged to share ideas and infor-
mation about safety and health in the workplace.
Intelsat leverages the power of space-based technology to make an economic and social impact in the world. From facilitating ac-cess to quality healthcare to promoting digital inclusion, training the new generation of communications engineers and assisting in case of natural disasters, Intelsat believes in being a part of the commu-nities it operates in and strives to make a positive impact.
Using space-based technology to provide an easy access to quality healthcare
Intelsat leverages the power of satellite technology to reduce barriers to quality healthcare. Working closely
with local medical providers, governments, and hospitals, Intelsat provides critical connectivity to exchange
information surrounding the latest medical treatments and increase access to health care in remote areas
throughout the world:
•Telemedicine in Morocco – Since 2008, Intelsat has supported a satellite-based telemedicine network to
enable pediatric cardiology specialists at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. to help
diagnose, support and treat children in the Kingdom of Morocco. Intelsat partners with governments, local
schools and leading non-governmental organizations to ensure that communities have access to education-
al tools and classes regardless of location.
•Education in Africa – In support of Mindset Network, Intelsat provides satellite bandwidth that enables the
delivery of quality educational resources to schools, homes, community centers, teacher centers and public
health facilities throughout the African continent. Programs are delivered via on-demand content and linear
television broadcasts.
All employees must participate in safety training and
comply with the safety rules and policies as set forth
in the Safety Manual or otherwise communicated by
the Company.
Medical Unit
The Medical Unit in Intelsat’s Tysons offices is
staffed by a full-time nurse and a part-time physician.
The Medical Unit provides employees in and visiting
Tysons Corner with routine physician appointments,
medical counseling and referrals, travel consulta-
tions and vaccinations, wellness presentations and
education, ergonomic evaluations, review of work-
place accommodation requests, CPR/AED training,

Leveraging Intelsat’s satellite connectivity to accelerate and promote digital inclusion around the world
Intelsat provides the world’s most extensive and secure communications network. At Intelsat, we believe that
access to affordable broadband connectivity is essential to the exchange of data and ideas that support eco-
nomic growth of individuals, communities and countries, and we are constantly looking for ways to bridge the
digital divide and make telecommunications accessible to all.
•Since2013,GCI,thelargesttelecomproviderinAlaska,hasusedIntelsatsatellitestoprovidetelephony,
high speed Internet and video services to customers across Alaska, and in particular to support broadband
services to schools and medical clinics, as well as telemedicine applications for hospitals that are located in
underserved areas of Alaska. Thanks to this project, schools now use satellite-enabled video conferencing to
leverage teacher resources across remote classrooms and hospitals use satellite-enabled telemedicine for
rapid diagnosis.
• InremoteregionsofColombia,providingconnectivityviaterrestrialtechnologiesiscost-prohibitive,unre-
liable or simply impossible, given geographies. With Intelsat’s EpicNG High throughput satellites that enable
the use of smaller hardware, we provide bandwidth to kiosks to support connectivity to computers, laptops
and other devices in libraries, schools and other public access sites. The solution delivers essential internet
connectivity and telephony to children and adults in communities across Colombia.
• IntheDemocraticRepublicofCongo,Vodacomwantedtoquicklyandcost-effectivelyprovideserviceto
millions of unconnected people across the country. Together with Intelsat they expanded telecommunication
services across 800 rural sites. The implementation of service to these rural areas across the DRC was only
possible through satellite and has had a positive impact on safety, security and economics within the region.
In an effort to encourage students from kindergarten through University to explore and pursue a career in
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), our executives participate in programs to educate,
engage and encourage students to pursue a career in STEM.
As a leader in satellite technology, our people are passionate about satellite technology and donate their time
and expertise to share their knowledge and hopefully, inspire the next generation of technology leaders:

In times of natural disasters and humanitarian crises, a
country’s or region’s infrastructure is severely compromised
and satellite technology is the only means of connectivity for
relief organizations and governments. Since 1964, Intelsat’s
global satellite network has provided rapid response to
humanitarian crises and natural disasters.
Beginning in late August 2017, Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and
Maria created widespread destruction across many island
nations in the Caribbean as well as the southern United
States. The storms left businesses and thousands of resi-
dents without basic necessities, and the loss of communica-
tions services disrupted national and local economics and
hampered the efforts of relief organizations trying to help
residents recover and begin rebuilding. The recovery efforts
began in the fall of 2017 and Intelsat provided support well
into the beginning of 2018.
Intelsat provided communications services using its Glo-
balized Network and IntelsatOne Flex managed service, a
customizable offering that aggregates space segment, the
Intelsat EpicNG high throughput satellites and the IntelsatOne
terrestrial network into a simplified, unified ecosystem to
quickly deliver bandwidth where it is needed most.
Intelsat’s support efforts began even before the first storm
approached land, initiating disaster recovery and restoration
plans for customers across the media, broadband and
mobility sectors with operations established in the projected
paths of the storms. In some cases, customers transitioned
hub operations and relocated staff to Intelsat teleport
locations, maintaining unimpaired operations throughout
the storms.
Team Intelsat Gives Back
As a global corporation, Intelsat strongly encourages our teams to actively engage in the communities we
serve. Intelsat Team Intelsat Gives Back (TIGB) was formed in 2016. At its core, TIGB is a corporate-wide
initiative in which employees volunteer their time to non-governmental organizations providing critical
services to the communities in their region.

Intelsat’s satellites and teleports also provided restoration
services and helped deliver news coverage in the wake of
the storms. With broadcasters being significantly impacted
bythefloodinHouston,Intelsat’sGalaxy16satellitewas
used to provide vital connectivity to re-establish services. In
Puerto Rico, capacity was allocated to provide connectivity
fromNewYorktothedevastatedisland.
Intelsat also supported BT’s Satellite Emergency Response
Team, a group of engineers based in the United Kingdom,
whom quickly responds to disasters. The team set up in
local community centers across Turks & Caicos, the British
VirginIslandsandAnguillatodeploybroadbandconnectiv-
ity services.
In Puerto Rico, Intelsat worked with antenna manufacturer
Kymeta to deliver mobile communications to Liberty Global
Puerto Rico in support of Liberty’s Wi-Fi tour. Three vehi-
cles, dubbed Liberty 1, 2 and 3 travelled throughout Puerto
Rico for two months as part of a caravan that delivered ba-
sic necessities and Internet connectivity to residents in 29
remote towns. Intelsat donated high-throughput bandwidth
from the Intelsat EpicNG network and Intelsat’s managed
services platform.
Intelsat helped return communications to normal levels in
PuertoRico,includingworkingwithAT&TandVerizonto

Intelsat is committed to protecting the environment, reducing our carbon footprint, promoting recycling and
conserving water, and educating and engaging our staff and partners on environmental awareness. Intelsat
promotes environmentally friendly business practices and services that reduce the company’s environmental
footprint and are financially responsible. We achieve this through the following:
Marketplace
Intelsat acts as a leader and innovator in the industry, by leading industry initiatives as well as constantly
investing in research and innovation:
• Intelsat’s CEO, Steve Spengler was named Corporate Leader of the year by SpaceNews magazine for the
completion of the company’s global footprint of its high-technology satellite platform, Intelsat EpicNG and
leadership on spectrum issues worldwide.
• Intelsat was named the ‘Satellite Operator of the Year’ at the 2018 BroadcastPro Middle East Awards in
Dubai,UAE for the company’s initiatives in expanding broadband connectivity in Africa.
•Euroconsult awarded Intelsat the Global Connectivity / Universal Broadband Award of the Year alongside
Sprint and Gilat. Intelsat’s Globalized Network was designed to support the broadening connectivity require-
ments of MNO customers in both developed and developing countries. The company was honored along-
side Sprint and Gilat for delivering 4G connectivity to the more rural areas of the United States. The work we
are doing together is a testament of how the seamless integration of different technologies can work to the
benefit of communities around the world and bring about a more digitally inclusive society.
•Ensuring high-quality connectivity across the industry – End users continue to state that radio frequency
interference (RFI) is the single most important service issue relative to their use of satellite services. RFI
disrupts television signals, data transmissions and other customer services, hindering business growth.
To foster an interference-free space environment, Intelsat led the Intelsat Interference Management Initiative
(I3). As part of the I3 industry-wide activities, Intelsat worked with satellite operators, industry groups, custom-
ers and equipment manufacturers to make RFI reduction a top priority.
•Space Data Association. Intelsat is one of the leading members of the Space Data Association (SDA), an
organization that brings together satellite operators who value controlled, reliable and efficient data-sharing
critical to the safety and integrity of the space environment and the RF spectrum.

entering landfills.
Water conservation program Water is a vital resource that deserves protecting. We install native, adap-
tive and drought tolerant landscaping at our properties and only irrigate
our plants early in the morning or late at night to minimize the amount of
water lost due to evaporation. Inside our buildings, we install low water
flowaeratorsforthefaucets,low-flowflushvalvesinthelavatoriesand
address all leaks in a timely manner.
Energy-efficient lighting The company has moved to more energy efficient LED lighting through-
out all of our properties. We limit the amount of power we use by install-
ing occupancy sensors throughout our work spaces, conference rooms,
restrooms, and kitchens. Our automated energy management control

Efforts to reduce of carbon footprintIn order to reduce our carbon footprint, preserve green space and
prevent congestion, Intelsat provides incentives for commuters to use
alternative modes of transportation. Where possible, we look to locate
our facilities within walking distance of public transit avenues, allow for

daily activities on the environment and providing opportunities for em-
ployees to take active steps in making a meaningful positive difference.
Partnering for Environmental Awareness and Education: Climate Reality ProjectIntelsat’s global network covers 99% of the world’s populated regions,
and as such, it is a member of the global community. The reach of our
