STUDENT WELLBEING – UPDATED STUDENT BEHAVIOUR PROCESS

Dear Families,

Student Wellbeing has always been of utmost priority at Corpus Christi. We continually strive

to refine our practices to ensure our school community is a safe and positive environment for

all.

We have recently updated our Student Behaviour Processes. Some main points are explained

in this newsletter.

DOJO RECORDING SYSTEM

For the last 18 months student behaviour has been recorded electronically via the CLASS

DOJO app. This data has informed Behaviour scores for student reports and allowed us to

monitor closely the frequency of our student behaviour incidents and provide the necessary

supports.

HOW IT WORKS

Every student across the school is awarded 5 points at the start of each day

This assumes compliance for 3 learning sessions and 2 playtime sessions each day

If a child is given a consequence for non-complaint behaviour (in line with our Positive Be-

haviour Process) they lose a point (includes class, yard and with specialists)

This data can then be collated to track individual student progress as well as whole school be-

haviour frequency

Student scores then inform their Behaviour score for their June and December reports

The DOJO is recorded discreetly and most students do not have access to the DOJO

Students and their parents can have access to the DOJO when it is used as a tool to monitor

and reflect on their behaviour

LEVELLED BEHAVIOUR PROCESS

This process is being introduced this term to closely monitor Student Behaviour and provide

the necessary support and Intervention for students, staff and their families.

HOW FAMILIES CAN HELP

Parent Communication is vital to our success in improving Student Behaviour.

For parents we encourage you to keep it simple;

- Model your own positive behaviour

- Praise their positive behaviour and spend quality time with your child

- Set clear, concise and consistent expectations and logical consequences

Please also refer to our Student Wellbeing Booklet for more information on our Wellbeing

practices. We welcome any parent feedback and questions.

Prayer for Forgiving Others

Dear Merciful Lord,

Thank you for your gift of forgiveness.

Your only Son loved me enough to come to earth and experience

the worst pain imaginable so I could be forgiven.

Your mercy flows to me in spite of my faults and failures.

Your Word says to “clothe yourselves with love,

which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” (Col. 3:14)

Help me demonstrate unconditional love today, even to those who hurt me. AMEN

Letter From St Vincent de Paul Society

To the children of Corpus Christi

I take great delight and pride in thanking you for your wonderful generosity and I thank your families as well. The tins of food gathered by you will be used to boost the content of the food parcels given to the needy in our area. Surely they will delight in the items and give thanks to our almighty father for these gifts. May the blessings of our lord be with you and your families.

Yours sincerely Frank Crisapulli Vice President

Bunnings Gardening Workshop

Thank you to Robyn and Christina who came in from Coburg Bunnings to help us clean up and plant new seedlings in our school garden. Robyn and Christina showed us how to turn over the soil before planting, the best techniques when planting seedlings and how to care for them. We planted lettuce, beetroot, peas, strawberries and much more. We are looking forward to seeing them grow! It was great to see so many Year 4, 5 and 6 children involved and engaged in the sessions. Well done to all who participated! Please keep an eye out for the Lunch time Garden Club happening soon!

If you are interested in helping please see Claire Waldron or Vanessa Barbetti.
