Work Packages

Develop new smart tools that will help to optimize railway maintenance operations ensuring higher railway availability, better cross-border coordination and improved efficiency.

· To analyse the specification and requirements for an efficient, reliable and sustainable maintenance of the railway systems.

· To analyse the transferability of concepts, ideas and solutions from other sectors to railway domain.

· To design and validate smart and collaborative tools based on intelligent systems (and particularly on fuzzy logic) that become decision support making systems.

· To design a new maintenance conceptual framework based on fuzzy systems to integrate and linkage to existing maintenance platforms and ICT systems.

· To validate the design through an implementation platform.

· To define the synergies and best practices between the cross-border networks.

Project Title Development of a Smart Framework based on Knowledge to support Infrastructure Maintenance decisions in Railway networks

Project Acronym OPTIRAIL

Grant Agreement No. 314031

Programme for Research FP7-SST-2012-RTD-1

Duration 1.10.2012 – 30.9.2015 (36 months)

Project Coordinator Mr. Carlos Martí[email protected]

Mr. Gregorio [email protected]

Technical Coordinator

Validation and pilot tests of viable solutions to improve railway infrastructure maintenance routines to ensure a higher availability of this infrastructure along corridors.
