820ft. sections of Black Steel Pipe are cut into 9ft.-10 inch sections
8Water and Acid baths clean rust from the conduit
8Conduit is then Threaded8Conduit is then immersed in a flux
bath to insure adhesion of Zinc to the bare steel.

8Conduit is then dipped, one piece at a time, into a vat of molten Zinc. (850 degree F).
8Threads on both ends of the conduit are cleaned by running a coupling of the same size onto the conduit.(Chasing vs. Rolling threads)

8An Acrylic phenolic coating is applied to the zinc coated conduit to facilitate bonding of PVC to the zinc of the conduit
8Conduit is then heated to 500 degrees F and rolled 2 1/4 turns through a room temperature vat of liquid PVC.(40 mils)
8Conduit is then cured in an oven at 380 degrees for 14 minutes.

82 mils of Blue Urethane is applied to the interior of the conduit and to the exterior of the threads and dried in open air.

8T&B, Crouse or Appleton fittings are sprayed on the inside and the outside with 2 mils of Blue Urethane.
8Fittings are then cured in an oven. (This causes the urethane to darken to a green color.)

8The acrylic phenolic coating is applied to the fittings to facilitate bonding the PVC to the fitting.
8Fittings are then re-assembled with the proper template, heated to 500 degrees and dipped in liquid PVC. (40 Mils)
8The fittings are cured at 380 degrees for 14 minutes to complete the bonding process.

Form 8 conduit bodies use a “V Seal” to join cover to the fitting - 1/2” to 2” only. 2 1/2” and above reverts back to flat PVC flange seal.
