Corvette Expressions 3rd Edition—Volume 133 October, 2017

Greetings, and welcome to the October issue of Corvette Expressions. The month of September is usually a busy time for the club, and this past month was no excep-tion: The fun kicked off on September 10 with a pig roast and BBQ at the American Legion in Brick. Thanks Howard Fink for getting the club involved in this enjoyable day! The next activity, Laurita Winery’s Back to School Food Truck Festival, was hosted by yours truly and husband Larry. I think everyone was having a great time until the sky opened up (very unexpectedly!) and it poured like crazy! Thank goodness for plastic tablecloths; they really came in handy. (See Picture, LOL!) The third activity this month was a cruise to Bombay Hook National Refuge and Mick’s Crab House in Maryland. Special thanks to Dave and Lynn Schneiderman for organ-izing this lovely trip. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 4. See you then! Lisa Force Newsletter Editor

Hello Corvette Express members. October is still a busy month for the car en-thusiast. In addition to our already busy schedule, many car clubs are holding their annual events this month. Please check this newsletter, but also scan the web for up-coming events. At this month's meeting, open nominations can be presented for officers and committee members. This process will continue next month, with final voting to take place at the December meeting. I encourage the mem-bership to consider holding a position in the club, as this is a good way to keep the club "fresh" with new ideas and perspectives. I'd like to wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween, and hope to see you all at the next meeting - Wed 10/4. Yours in Corvettes, Rob Lombardi

Bombay Hook National Refuge and Maryland Crab House Cruise September 23

On a bright Saturday morning, twenty two intrepid members of our club set off for the Bombay Hook Na-tional Wildlife Refuge in Smyrna DE. We cruised down the Turnpike, over the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and then followed old DE Route 9 through the lowlands to the Refuge. Once there, we drove the 8-mile Auto Tour route through the Refuge, stopping at observation towers to view the scenery and, on the way, thor-oughly covering our Corvettes in a coating of fine dust…..guess we’ll be washing cars on Sunday! Leaving the Refuge, we made our way to Mick’s Crab House in Elkton MD. Some had all-you-can-eat crabs, others had crab cakes, snow crab legs, or broiled scallops, and some had Caesar salad with broiled shrimp…..plenty of choices for everyone! Headed home with the sun still shining and a great day had by all!
