Additionally the visual evaluation by skin scopes brings cosmetic counseling beyond the point of merely sensing the surface. The skin’s appearance and condition can be captured and visually compared, providing information beyond quantitative results. Add your unique corporate colors and logos on the counseling devices to incorporate them into your marketing campaign and build brand recognition.

Looking Younger, Longer – Personalized Anti-Aging Care

Skin becoming thinner, dryer and more sensitive. Decreasing elasticity due to reduced collagen causing lines and wrinkles. Sun-damaged areas showing as pigmented blotches. These early signs alerting your beauty specialists that immediate remedies are required.

Evaluating the state of skin aging with our technology-based visual analysis tools and systems will support your consultants to show even the short-term effects of anti-aging skin care – like whitening of pigmented areas or anti-wrinkle treatments. Closely involve your clients in the analysis to give them a positive attitude about care options.

Simply prove the value of your anti-aging products.

SKIN PARAMETERS

Over time, environmental influences as well as intrinsic changes of the human metabolism cause even healthy skin to change its appearance. Even though this process cannot be brought to a complete stop, the effects can be significantly reduced by choosing the right anti-aging care program.

Under the Skin – Technology-Based Visual Analysis

Support your anti-aging specialists by giving them the right tools to prove your product value. Highlighted features of our skin scope product range are:

• Lenses with different magnifications for the skin scopes enable different views of the skin, for different purposes.

• Special illumination techniques are utilized to enhance important skin features. In particular the polarized illumination mode makes pigmented areas with high amount of melanin visible.

• A dedicated wireless connection to a mobile device is the state-of-the-art feature of the MSS Smart Skin Scope. The collected images will be transferred via WiFi directly to a special analysis program built into our App installed on a smart device. The results are managed in the App and enable the user to keep a client information database and compare results of current treatments with future consultations.

Choosing colors and shades which match the natural skin color of your client will enhance their natural beauty, without looking overly colored. The Skin Color Sensor supports beauty advisors in making the right decisions independently from external influences like lighting conditions in the retail environment. Recommending appropriate coloring options based on your product range makes for a well-rounded and individualized consultation.

Making the Right Match – Decorative Cosmetic Counseling

Individual skin color is primarily determined by melanin and hemoglobin located in the blood capillaries of the dermis. Determining the individual skin color is an important factor in selecting matching make-ups as well as in whitening skin care.

Skin Color Sensor | Fast and easy determination of skin color

Matching the Right Color – Tools for Color Management

The handheld Skin Color Sensor measures skin color quickly and simply by illuminating the skin with red, yellow, green and blue colored light. Influenced by the content of melanin and hemoglobin, the reflected light from the skin is analyzed for its properties. The result is used to calculate Munsell and CIE L*a*b values. Adapt the sensor to match your product portfolio by customizing the color chart and providing targeted results for the specific color range options of your products.

After taking measurements on the cheek and neck, color and melanin balance charts are displayed and then correlated to customizable product recommendations.

Sensors for hair and scalp condition are important tools in professional hair counseling. They provide fast, relevant results for the key factors determining the actual hair and scalp condition. Hair scopes are used for imaging the hair and scalp. The hairs’ appearance and condition can be captured and visually compared, providing information beyond quantitative results.

Feeling Good by Looking Good – Devices for Hair Counseling

Visual inspection of hair and scalp by digital scopes for “before and after” documentation is increasingly popular and can be combined with sensors for hair and scalp condition measurements.

An example of an integrated hair analysis system is the MSS Mobile Smart Scope. By means of various magnification lenses (30x ... 700x) it determines scalp type, hair thickness, hair porosity, and hair density from a hair count and area measurement. The images collected are transferred directly to a special analysis App on a smart device for evaluation and storage. Customization options allow your corporate image and product recommendation to be implemented.

Moisture (Hydration, Skin Surface Moisture) Sufficient moisture makes the skin appear smooth, soft and supple. A lack of moisture can cause the skin to look dull and cracked, appearing older.

Sebum (oil, Skin Surface Lipid) Sebum keeps hair and skin smooth and flexible by sealing moisture in the corneal layer and preventing evaporation. Excessive sebum production can cause clogged pores possibly resulting in blemishes.

Elasticity (Firmness) Determined by the elastin (elasticity) and collagen fibers (firmness) of the dermis. Due to aging and external factors, the elasticity of the skin deteriorates over time, leaving the skin appearing dull and saggy.

Skin Texture (Cellular Surface Pattern) Texture is the unevenness or smoothness of the skin that is evident in peaks and valleys. Evaluated by dividing the skin into tiny segments, homogeneity of the skin surface pattern can be determined.

Skin Pores Depending on the level of sebum production, the pores can be visibly enlarged. Clear, unclogged pores appear smaller, while pores that are clogged or blocked seem larger.

Lines and Wrinkles Natural aging due to collagen loss accelerated by sun damage and other extrinsic factors increases the amount of fine lines and severity of deep furrows on the skin’s surface.

Keratin (Squames, Dead Cells, Flakiness, Cell Turnover) The turnover rate of the skin as well as size and shape of keratin cells arean indicator of the skin‘s flakiness and condition.

Pigmentation (Blotchiness, Age Spots) Accelerating the normal aging process external factors like UV-light can influence the degree and distribution of melanin in the dermis causing uneven pigmentation like age spots.

Skin Brightness (Radiance, Dullness)Brightness as a representative for skin color can be determined with acolor calibrated scope.

Skin Color (Skin Tone, Tint, Teint)Determined by melanin, defining the degree of basic pigmentation, andhemoglobin, located in the blood capillaries of the dermis.

Hair Count Head hair count will be strongly influenced by age, in particular for the malepopulation. Body hair count will be evaluated to monitor hair removal progress.

Hair Diameter/Thickness Hair thickness can vary tremendously depending on gender, race, age and previous treatments like coloring and bleaching. Scalp Type Analysis of the scalp type indicates, if the scalp is healthy or features too much sebum, dandruff or sensitive skin.
