The $3.9 billion project features 2,995 rooms, a 110,000 sq ft (10,000 m2) casino, 300,000 sq ft (28,000 m2) of retail and restaurant space, a 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m2) spa and fitness facility, a 1,800 seat theater, and 150,000 sq ft (14,000 m2) of meeting/convention space. Groom Energy Solutions will replace a majority percentage of the lighting lamps and fixtures in the property to reduce energy consumption in the property by 1.45 million kWh per year. The sheer volume of the retrofit will include changing or replacing 34,368 lighting elements and 1,750 motion sensing lighting controls. The duration of the project installation is expected to take approximately 60 days.

Means and Methods

1.1 Overview

The building domains are broken up in to 6 domains: PODIUM, TOWERS, BASEMENT, STAIRWELLS, GUEST ROOM CORRIDORS, WAREHOUSE. The essence of the work is in effect to work seamlessly around the existing operations and especially guests, while not disturbing the operation or experience of either. Precise timing and organization is key to the success of the project and all contributing parties will be accountable for such. Safe work practices are even more paramount to prevent unnecessary risk to both GES and the Cosmopolitan. All OSHA, and industry required PPE and safe work methods will be required during construction operations with a zero tolerance policy therein. All customers required security protocols must also be followed for example: badging, key control, accompaniment in secure areas, etc. No exception will be given for these policies as the safety and security of the property and their guests are of the utmost importance.
