VALLE DEL ESTE was designed by José Canales in 2003 to conserve the natural pre-desert environment – the golden yellow landscape beautifully contrasts with the green lawns and fairways.

The hotel, which was completely refurbished in January 2014, is at the heart of the golf course with the tees of holes 1 and 10 and the greens of holes 9 and 18 very close by.

All 18 holes are of varying design creating a greater challenge for players. Within metres of the hotel, the driving range is 300 m in length with mats and golf ball dispensers. There’s also a putting green and a large approach course.

LA FINCA GOLF COURSE is one of three courses owned by the QUARA Group, situated in Alicante. La Finca is still a young course but has been maturing rapidly since opening in August 2002.

The course was designed by the famous Spanish designer, Pepe Gancedo, and is made up of 19 holes (18 + 1). It has generous fairways with spectacular greens in both variety and design features. A prime example is the 7th hole with its totally square ‘bowling’ style green guarded by a symmetrical L-shaped bunker.

This hole is an impressive end to La Finca’s ‘Amen Corner’, where holes 5 and 6 are flanked by vast water hazards and five waterfalls cascade into five lakes – all adding to this difficult corner but providing spectacular views.

If you stay at Hotel La Finca Golf (see opposite) you can choose to play at Las Ramblas, Villamartin and La Finca.


CAMPOAMOR GOLF CLUB has a par 72 course that has been challenging experienced golfers since 1988 when it was inaugurated by HRH D. Juan de Borbón, Count of Barcelona.

Nestled between two interconnected valleys and surrounded by small hillocks that protect it from the wind, the course emerged from the wild beauty of Dehesa de Campoamor. Amidst the natural lush vegetation and fauna lie the course’s meticulously manicured lawns.

The resort has a 4-star hotel, plus a pro shop and locker rooms, and you can hire buggies, electric trolleys and golf clubs. There are also practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, chipping area and bunkers.

LORCA RESORT GOLF CLUB was designed by Dave Thomas and Jorge Soler. This par 71 18-hole course has extensive, undulating greens and strategically placed bunkers that provide entertainment and excitement at every turn. GREEN FEES

SAURINES GOLF is a challenging 18-hole, par 72 desert-style course, reminiscent of the course designed by Nicklaus in Las Vegas. It combines two unique golfing experiences – a links type course (typical of Scotland) set in an Arizona-style landscape.

Playing Saurines is like a British Open experience but in a Phoenix Open setting. The moulding of its fairways and greens amidst dunes and hills, and surrounded by lakes, make this a unique golfing experience.


LA TORRE GOLF is an 18-hole par 68 course by Nicklaus Design with four sets of tees. Over five hectares of elaborate bunkers separate the holes, creating strategic points and giving added value to the shots.

Dense grass surrounds the bunkers, creating the optimum wind shot effect. A combination of challenging conditions and impeccable playing surfaces make this course ideal for average players and those with a high handicap, yet it preserves the challenge for experienced players who, teeing off from the furthest tee, will have to devise a suitable strategy to cover the fairway with the perfect shot.


GREEN FEES

ALHAMA SIGNATURE is a long (6,884 metres) par 72 golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus himself. It has five large lakes, original circular tees, wide fairways and fast greens.

The 116 varied-formed, strategically-planned bunkers demand careful consideration for every shot, making this test of golf a tough but enjoyable sporting adventure for all players.


EL VALLE GOLF is an 18-hole medium-length par 71 golf course situated in a beautiful natural desert valley. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the course relies on subtle strategic elements to challenge golfers, rather than length. It requires accuracy over power, favouring the intelligent player who can manage their game.

Routed in a ‘core’ format, several holes are grouped together, keeping the surrounding development on the perimeter to create an open, natural experience. Home of the 2009/11 Spanish Professional Competition and European Tour Qualifying School Second Stage.


GREEN FEES

HACIENDA RIQUELME GOLF, home of the Spanish Professional Competition 2010, is an 18-hole par 72 course designed by Nicklaus. It is located between mountains and Sucina – a regional natural park.

The course has wider than average fairways with plenty of room across the contoured greens. Putting is complicated by the subtle random contours. And adding further difficulty are the numerous large rugged bunkers cut with jagged edges.

Hacienda Riquelme


HACIENDA DEL ALAMO is a 6,724 metre championship course that has staged European Tour qualifying events and other professional and high level amateur events.

The Academy has large putting and chipping greens for practising your short game, and a 36-bay driving range. The club offers a 6-hole executive course (three par 3s and three par 4s), plus training facilities perfect for specific golf programs and intensive training; the expansive clubhouse has 5-star facilities.

Designed by Dave Thomas, this gently undulating site at the foot of the Sierra de Carrascoy has outstanding panoramic views.

LAS RAMBLAS GOLF CLUB – golf in a protected natural area.

Designed by Pepe Gancedo, a prestigious and visionary golf course designer of world-renown, Las Ramblas golf course was opened in 1990. It is an area of incomparable beauty and, as the name suggests, is designed on steep terrain, which is surrounded by streams and lush vegetation – mainly Mediterranean pines.

The course has magnificent views of orange and lemon tree plantations, and the fragrance of the fruit mingling with the pine fills the air – especially in spring.

An incomparable golf course that will stay in your memories.


GREEN FEES

VILLAMARTIN GOLF COURSE, founded in 1972, is one of the oldest courses on the Costa Blanca. The 18 holes challenge every level of golfer and will require you to use practically all the clubs in your bag.

The greens have hosted many important tournaments including, at professional level, the Open Mediterranean Volvo PGA European Tour and the European PGA Challenge Tour; and tournaments for the National & Valencia Federations at amateur level.


GREEN FEES

LO ROMERO GOLF was designed by Jorge Gallén and Enric Soler, and this challenging 18-hole, par 72 course makes the most of the natural terrain.

The signature hole has to be the 18th par 4 of 356 metres, played from an elevated tee that looks over the island green. The lake surrounding it calls for the golfer to play a well-struck accurate shot on to the green, so’s to walk away with a par on a hole that will be etched into your memory for a lifetime.

Located at Pilar de la Horadada, Alicante, and close to the small ports and towns on the Mediterranean and Mar Menor Sea, Lo Romero Golf has spectacular vistas of the sea.

It is within easy reach of both Alicante and San Javier Murcia airports.

ALTORREAL, an 18-hole par 72 course designed by Dave Thomas, is situated in the hills above Murcia. Strategically surrounded by more than 20,000 olive, carob and pine trees, it has spectacular mountain views.

The course is notable for its strategic use of water, which comes into play particularly on the 9th and 18th holes. This is a thinking player’s course where accuracy is more important than length.


GREEN FEES

LA SERENA GOLF was designed by Manuel Piñero who twice played in the Ryder Cup team. The course is quite flat and not overly long, but don’t think that makes it easy…

With the prevailing Levante wind and water hazards that come into play on 16 of the 18 holes, this course will test every level of golfer.

ALENDA GOLF was designed by Roland Favrat. The par 72 18-hole golf course covers 49 hectares and is 6,257 metres in length. It’s a varied and challenging course that suits golfers of different skill levels. It also has an excellent practice area.

The resort is just 30 minutes from Torrevieja and 15 minutes from Alicante and the airport.
