December-February Get to know authentic Messinia at the quietest time of year and experience unique customs such as the Nedousa Carnival, at which people dressed in animal skins re-enact local traditions.
MarchEnjoy the celebrations commemorating the liberation of Kalamata, including historical re-enactments in a festive atmosphere. Nature lovers can visit Gialova Lagoon, home to more than 271 bird species. Birdwatching is also popular in October.

Future Development
Costa Navarino is the prime destination of the Mediterranean, extending over 1000 hectares and comprising of a number of distinct sites which features hotels, marines, golf courses, spas, sports facilities and private residences.
The first area, Navarino Dunes is already completed. The second area, Navarino Bay already home to The Bay Course stretches along a magnificent 2km seafront, facing on the historic Bay of Navarino.
The expansion of Navarino Bay will include the first earth-sheltered mixed use resort in Europe, expected to welcome visitors in the near future.
The next development phase is Navarino Hills, a true eco deluxe site, located close to the mountain village of Kynigos on an elevated plateau with breathtaking vistas.
