ouR sERVICEsCostella provides a range of specialist services nationwide. All of our engineers work

closely with Audatex, Thatcham, Glass’s and Motex. Our engineers are members of

the Institute of Automotive Engineering Assessors and Institute of the Motor Industry

demonstrating the quality of engineers at Costella.

As a value added service, we provide on-going support and advice throughout your

case where you will also have direct access to Costella VUE where you can access,

view, instruct and download additional letters, reports, joint reports, images or evidence

in court.

Costella has a combination of over 50 years’ experience in engineer assessment reports

with particular emphasis where inspection of motor vehicles are completed where low

speed impacts are usually involved. This specialist area of our expertise is one where

we are frequently instructed by many UK insurers and leading law practices to carry out

detailed inspections for both the Claimant’s and Defendant’s parties.

Vehicle Assessment Reports

Motor Vehicle Assessment forms the bulk of our

work where we receive instructions from a wide

variety of sources within the UK. Instructing

parties include insurance companies, brokers,

solicitors, motoring organisations, legal

expenses insurers, private companies, self-

insurers or private individuals.

Vehicles are inspected within 48 hours of

instruction. We would make immediate contact

with parties involved. All parties are able to

track real-time changes.

Low Velocity & Causation Reports

Costella calculate factors such as the rate of

change of velocity (delta V) of the vehicles

involved. This can aid the Court in deciding

whether the occupants were truly injured.

Further, our Low Velocity & Causation Reports

are cutting edge accurate reports.

Locus Reports

Costella work with solicitors, insurance

companies and accident management

companies throughout the UK to collate

evidence on road traffic accidents. Our

specialist investigative support services

compile all the necessary information and

evidence to formulate a full locus report. This

will usually involve the taking of comprehensive

measurements; preparation of a sketch-plan of

the road lay out, traffic light signal patterns and

obtaining photographic evidence.

Imaging Services

Costella have direct access to mobile and

remote imaging services by utilisation programs

such as Audatex AudaEnterprise estimating

system. The remote digital image inspection

service offers comprehensive control over the

repairs.

Forensic Fire Investigations

A typical forensic fire investigation will include

case research, interview of witnesses as well

as examination, analysis & interpretation of

physical evidence – usually culminating in

a presentable, illustrated and easy-to-read

technical report.

Forensic Vehicle Inspection Services

Costella has a combination of over 50 years’

In addition to our routine inspection services

we also inspect Caravans and Motorhomes and

also inspect Agricultural Plant and Machinery.

Further, our specialists are such that we are able

to accurately inspect and provide management

reports on machinery that may not readily be

available as a standard inspection report.

CostEllA VuE

VUE is a cutting edge real-time online platform that tracks and traces all updates with

regards to your instruction. From letters of instruction, correspondence, images, reports

and fee notes can be viewed and downloaded online.

The VUE system also allows users to instruct us online, which speeds up the turnaround

time of the report by 30%. All services can be selected online, complete with any other

notes or correspondence for the attention of Costella.

Referring parties, solicitors and insurance intermediaries can be granted access to view

files that relate to them. This ensures you do not have to keep your own individual

records or burden your current file management system as everything is available online

at any given time with real-time updates. The VUE system also generates weekly and

monthly management reports, displaying how many instructions were received for a

particular month, how many were completed and number of pending reports.

Costella VUE not only simplifies your engineer inspection, but also increases efficiency

in the turnaround time of your report. The platform has been based on real-time updates

allowing our administrations team to effectively locate, manage and update our panel of

engineers, wherever they may be in the United Kingdom.

The VUE system also allows clients to instruct us online or through your smart phone

whilst you are on the move. The online instruction allows us to receive all the relevant

details to enable our administrations team to locate and instruct our closest engineer.

traced on our real-time management system – Costella VUE.

inspection reports.

CAsE HAndlIng & REpAIR nEtwoRkPredominantly, case handling is an area traditionally for insurance companies and

solicitors. Costella’s in-house Case Handling is a service available to any organisation

involved with the repair of motor vehicles which is designed to minimise the difficulty of

minor repairs.

On your behalf we can discuss with the repairer the extent of the work required thus

agreeing costs, authorisation of repairs and a final check of the repair account - ensuring

that all savings are passed on to our principals. we are able to tailor solutions to each and

every case to ensure we provide a cost effective and efficient solution for all parties we

service and act on behalf of.

JACkson REfoRms 2013The long awaited Jackson Reforms will be taking effect as of 1st April 2013. On 30th

April 2010 new regulations came into force to radically alter the way that personal

injury claims are managed. The biggest incentives encouraging the reforms are for new

claims to be reported quickly so that liability decisions can be made within the new 15

day period in order to mitigate any potential losses to the ‘fault’ party.

Despite the changes taking place, Costella are offering a new bespoke service that

will enable us to rapidly review cases where forensic engineering evidence could

assist with a prompt decision on liability in relation to low speed impact claims and/or

suspected fraudulent cases.

Costella can provide an initial desk top review of assessor’s reports and images and

advise on the relevant issues.

Information that we require for Desktop Reports;

• Engineers Report(s)

• Witness Statements if available

• Colour Images if available

• Accident Claim/Report Form if available

Once we receive the above information, we would refer this to one of our experts to

assess the nature of the case and initial opinions made in relation to:-

• Possible Fraudulent claim
