Costume and Prop research

Katie’s costume

• I chose the bright yellow coat to contrast with the orange/ginger of Katie’s hair as I feel it fits with the genre.

• The black skirt and polka dot shirt also fit in with the ‘indie’ genre but also the simplicity allows the coat to truly stand out.

• I wanted to make the friends look different but at the same time complement each others outfits.

• I feel they both coincide with my chosen indie genre and the colours make it very appealing and eye-catching.

Emiliese’s costume

• The suede coat I chose for Emiliese was mainly to go with the colour of her hair and the setting of the photographs.

• The black and grey trousers and shirt match and go well together underneath the coat along with the simple white t-shirt.

• Overall, I feel Emiliese’s outfit matches the ‘indie’ genre of my music magazine and complements what Katie is wearing. Although both their outfits are very different they work well together and make it clear that although they are a band they still have individual preferences.
