and appearance of the band in the video

THE COSTUME…
When I was thinking of the different ways in which we could incorporate your ideology to match our costume design. During the planning we felt that there should be at least 3 different costume
changes throughout the video as the pop videos of girl bands in which we researched all contained on average three costume changes. Whilst thinking of these different costume changes, I felt that these costumes changes had to have the link of the same colour so that they all linked
and matched each scene, even if the outfit is different.
When thinking of already existing artists in which I felt would match the fashion image in which we could be similar to was:
Pixie Lott
Jessie J
THE GENERAL IDEA
‘Edgy’ looking outfits – Typical Urban Outfitters style.
Black shorts, different tights, black skinny jeans, heels, black/white or red top, leather jacket?
STREET 1/CAR PARK SHOTS - GIRLS
Evening looking outfits – Topshop/Miss Selfridge style.
White or black dresses/white or black heels.
RED BACKDROP SHOTS - GIRLS
‘Edgy’ style again – New Look/Urban Outfitters
Again, black/white/red colour scheme, maybe wear skirts in these shots and a different top.
STREET 2 /CAR - GIRLS
In all of the locations and shots the boy look in which we are going for is meaning the typical, ‘boy band’ look, ‘Indie’
style: skinny jeans, shirt, converses, vans, etc.
ALL LOCATIONS - BOYS
The makeup in the street shots and car park ones is very sharp and dark. Eyeliner is bold, lipstick strong (red or
black).
For the backdrop shot the make up should be all colour linked with each band member and very heavy so that it
picks up on the camera with lighting.
MAKE-UP
Hair should be different for each band member in each location change, up, down, curly, straight. Each person
already has different coloured hair, and all different lengths which can be changed throughout.
HAIR
Within the music video preparation, we have paired people up with the different looks so that each pair must match
with costume design so it doesn’t look odd.
Ermal – Megan
Joe – Amy
Jack – Helen
Adam – Laura
