Costume

There will only be one costume for each of the two characters. Jade will be wearing a blue denim jacket, black denim jeans, a black bralet/top and Timberland shoes.

This will be featured in all the scenes that Jade is featured in throughout the entire video. It will also be featured on the Digi-pack and advert.

During our Music Video shoot, we used no props.

Jade (Actress 1)We will source the costumes from our own wardrobes and borrow from friends. The denim jeans and Timberlands will be from Jades wardrobe, the denim jacket will be from Annie’s wardrobe and the black bralet will be borrowed from a friend.

The dark colours are symbolic signs because black colours symbolise darkness. The clothing will symbolise the darkness in her emotions and feelings. The black bralet is feminine which contrasts to the oversized denim jacket and boyish shoes which will symbolise the type of character that she is (she doesn’t care anymore about what she looks like to him). The questionnaire results stated that the target audience wanted to see casual clothing of monotone colours therefore we are sticking to what our audience wants.

Piers (Actor 2)

We will source the costumes from Piers’ wardrobe, as he owns all of the items of clothing that we envisioned for our video.

The dark colours are symbolic because dark colours symbolise heartache and darkness, similar to Jade’s costumes. The white shirt is indexical because it is ironic that the heartbreaker is wearing a white shirt as white symbolises purity and honesty, which he clearly doesn’t have. The questionnaire results said that they wanted simple, everyday clothing, which we are showing in our video.

Piers will be wearing a shirt unbuttoned with a t-shirt underneath. He will also be wearing be wearing black jeans and smart shoes.
