Council Receives International Award!
Bishop Ackerman Council #5453 Burlington, KY: Serving Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Paul May 2018
The annual Kenny Hill Memorial Golf Outing was held Saturday, May 12th at Boone Links in Florence, KY. Thirty-eight golfers drove, pitched and putted the afternoon away for Northern Kentucky Special Olympics. This charity has been our recipient for many years. Thanks to Brothers Emery Kocsis, Terry Eibel, Don Ward, Gary Thomson, Bill Isler and others for organizing the event. Thanks to Brothers Keith Cahill and Terry Kidwell for providing the provisions for the dinner afterwards!
Grand Knight John Doubrava (center) accepts the 2016-2017 Third Place International Service Award on behalf of our council’s efforts in raising funds for 2 ultrasound machines in 1 year. Our project was recognized from over 18,000 councils around the world. State Deputy Gabe Cabral (left) and State Pro-Life Chairman Rick Arnold (right) present the award at the 115th Kentucky State Convention in Lexington, KY on May 19th.
Council Raises $1,775 for NKY Special Olympics
A Spring membership drive was held Memorial Day Weekend at St. Paul Parish in Florence, KY. Thanks to Brothers Terry Kidwell, Jim Alcorn, Terry Eibel, Dustin Reed, Deacon Scott Folz and Father Michael Barth for their efforts and outreach. An Admission Degree is being held on Mon-day, June 4th at 7:30 pm in Acree Hall.

May Family of the Month!
Brother Chris Spiers (right) accepts the May Family of the Month award from GK John Doubrava. Chris has been a Knight since 1997 and came to us from Sugar-land, TX. He and his wife LuAn are Extraordinary Minis-ters of Communion and Lectors at IHM as well as a great donut making team. Congratulations!
24 Hour Rosary/Adoration June 1-2, 2018
Holy Donut Schedule!
Our 24-Hour Rosary and Adoration at IHM is on the first Friday and Saturday of the month. Following 10 a.m. Mass on the first Friday, the Rosary and Adoration be-gins until the beginning of the 10 a.m. Mass on Satur-day. Donut Season Kicks Off!
Campton Mission Trip
The 2018 Donut Season officially kicked off on May 19th with the annual event for BSA Troop 727 and the Venture Crew at IHM. Thanks to Brother and Scout Reese Davies (right) for chairing the event and Brothers Scott Nesmith and Ray Rechtin (above left) for their production efforts and Brother Joe Brown (below left) for learning the mixing ropes!
On April 28, 2018, members of the Council and the IHM Youth Group went to Church of the Good Shep-herd mission in Campton, KY to make repairs, paint and remove trees. We have been supporting this mission in the mountains of Eastern KY for more than 30 years. Thanks to Chairman Brother Ray Rechtin for coordinating and Brothers Keith Cahill, Dustin Reed, Scott Shelton, Bill Kopp and Rick Law-rence for their efforts! Thanks to Art’s Rental for their donation of a bucket truck for tree trimming.
