Counselor FYI
Each semester stands alone. Must pass each semester of required courses. Semester grades are not averaged together
to get a final end of year grade.
POINT TO PONDER: If you are failing the class because you don’t like the class or the homework… what are the chances that
you are going to like it the second time?
COMPLETE YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!!
Words of wisdom…
IMPORTANT NOW…. MORE THAN EVER !!!
YOUR ACHIEVEMENT, ATTENTION, AND PARTICIPATION IN THE CLASSROOM WILL CERTAINLY AFFECT YOUR PERFORMANCE ON THE END-OF-COURSE (STAAR) TEST AND IN TURN, IMPACT YOUR GRADUATION… EITHER POSITIVELY OR NEGATIVELY.
WE ARE HOPING FOR THE POSITIVE!
GPA Exemptions – Must declare first 3 weeks of each semester!Credit is awarded, but courses must not be required by graduation plan
Does not affect GPA. Use if interested in taking an upper level course, but fear a poor or failing gradeUse on elective courses if a high grade could possibly lower your GPA. Example: 12.83 GPA…a grade of 98-100 (12.0) would lower your GPA.
Get GPA EXEMPT FORM from your teacher.
Counselor FYI
Words of wisdom…
Failure to turn in classwork/homework will cause your average to fall dramatically and may ultimately affect final class ranking!
