Lately I’ve been humming, whistling, and yes even sometimes singing to myself the chorus to an old gospel song written over a century ago.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,Count your blessings, see what God hath done!Count your blessings, name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Have you personally taken time to count your blessings lately? As you do, I think that you’ll be amazed and maybe even surprised as to what the Lord has done, and is doing in your life right now. C.S. Lewis once said, “When we lose one blessing, another is most often unexpectedly given it its place.”

As we count our blessings at MCBI we are certainly grateful for the way God has provided for another year of ministry. God’s Word often comes to life in his provision. This past summer was a good example. The response during our on-air Share in July was low. As we moved into August, it looked as though we would end the fiscal year under budget and not come close to reaching the Share 2011 goal. God knew what was needed and it was so encouraging to see how He worked through his people. During the last two weeks of August, it was absolutely miraculous the way listeners stepped forward with faith promises and gifts to help keep KTIG, KCFB and WZFJ on the air for another year.

Thanks for responding to the need. Close to 1,100 ministry partners joined us in building a firm foundation for ministry in Central Minnesota. The Share goal was exceeded by $20,000 and we ended the year on August 31st with a budget surplus of almost $7,000. To God be the glory!

Little did we know that in September and October most of the surplus would be needed to pay for emergency equipment repair and replacement, and unexpected expenses related to the launch of new websites for The Word and The Pulse. We continue to count our blessings as God saw us and met our needs through unexpected equipment loss and change. The truth of Matthew 6 that the Father knows what you need even before you ask Him was clearly proven to be true.

Our year-end theme is Jesus the Ultimate Gift! Your special Christmas or year-end gift to MCBI will help us point Central Minnesota to Jesus the Ultimate Gift! This important message will be proclaimed in word and song daily on 91.5 & 102.7, The Word and 100.1, The Pulse. 2011 has been a remarkable year for 91.5 & 102.7 the Word. God has used these stations to praise His name with great Christian music, He has instructed His children with Bible teaching programs and others have discovered a relationship with Jesus thru 91.5 & 102.7 the Word. There was a concern about our budget earlier this year, but God has provided through His people in a wonderful way. Our new website, www.theword.mn, is providing more illumination for listeners than ever before!

As we approach the holidays, let’s celebrate! Our

theme for 2011’s year end is “Jesus – the Ultimate Gift”. We will be celebrating that gift with a month of special programs on 91.5 & 102.7 the Word.

You know, each year I seem to start my newsletter article the same way “I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone” or “I can’t believe how God has used The Pulse over the past year” or “It’s hard to believe how quickly this year has flown by and I’m excited to see what God has in store for us next year”. It’s not that I am at a loss for words, it’s just that I am so excited to be able to do what I do everyday for the glory of God! And dare I say for one more newsletter… “I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in the coming year”! Why? 2 very BIG events!

First, the new Pulse website! If you haven’t already heard we recently debuted the new Pulse website at thepulse.mn. A new name, a new look and new features. Not that our old website was bad. We will still have some of the same offerings from the old site but with the new site we added some great new features like What’s Playing Now and PluggedIn Movie Review plus we wanted to make the site more interactive and provide resources that can help you in your everyday life with links to the Family Features and Worthwhile Minute program websites that we air each hour. Allowing you to share photos and videos of concerts or events that you or your church may be involved in. Probably my favorite (and it has been a long time coming) The Pulse Prayer Connection. This

is an area on the website that allows you to ask others to pray for you and also allows you to share your stories of answered prayer. I encourage everyone to visit The Pulse Prayer Connection and post a prayer or pray for someone else. After all we know what the power of prayer can do! The second BIG event taking place comes next year as 2012 marks our 10th Anniversary here at The Pulse and we want to celebrate throughout the year! We can’t share details right now on what to expect but just know that every month starting in March, we’ll celebrate with a special event culminating with the BIGGY on December 1st 2012 (that’s our birthday) as a way to give a big “Thank You” to all of you who have shared prayerfully and financially in helping to provide 10 years of ministry to your friends and neighbors in central Minnesota. Be listening and checking the new website for all the upcoming celebration events.

So in the end am I justified in using the same lines from the past? I say yes because “It is hard to believe how quickly this year has flown by and I am excited to see what God has in store for us next year”! Or should I simply just say “I can’t wait!”
