In the last two weeks of August; about 10-15 boys from II year were diagnosed with

chicken-ox! It is well known that chicken ox is a highly contagious "iral disease!

 #here are se"eral misconcetions about this disease one of which is $ A erson

a%ected by chicken ox once is not a%ected again! #his was ro"ed wrong as a boy

got a%ected for the second time! As this is an airborne disease most of us are in

danger of getting exosed to it! &et's educate oursel"es in order to rotect us!

 Causes(

• )read by infected erson's coughing * snee+ing!

• Contact with their clothes and other belongings!

)ymtoms(

• Aearance of itchy rashes * boils aearing ,rst in face chest or shoulder!

• .e"er followed by loss of aetite!

Pre"ention(

/aricella +oster "irus which causes chickenox is suscetible to disinfectants!

)o the infected erson's room must be cleaned with chlorine bleach or henol!
