We will have Joyful Sound from North Greenville University leading us in worship with a delicious meal of turkey, dressing, sides and tea afterwards. A basket for donations will be available. A suggested donation is $5.00 per person with a cap of $15.00 per family. Each family is asked to bring a dessert to share! Since 1978, Joyful Sound has shared God's Word through music and worship. The purpose of this ministry is to introduce people to Jesus Christ, help people grow in Christ, and encourage the brokenhearted. Joyful Sound consists of two nine-member vocal teams, each with their own sound technician. Team members are selected based on their testimony, their personal walk with Jesus Christ, and their musical ability. Our own Hendrix Wilson is a sophomore at North Greenville and is a member of the group. Come Celebrate the Lord, and all that He has done, is doing and will do! Please sign up for the meal at the Connection Center in the main hallway or online at cbclancaster.org. Click on "Event Registration", then "Click Here for all Covenant Events". Finally click on the event titled Anniversary Sunday Lunch. We want to be prepared and have plenty of delicious food! "The Art of Marriage" - Led by Jason and Julie Mathews. Get ready to make a masterpiece of your marriage through this video-driven study. Session Topics: Love Happens, Love Fades, Love Dances, Love Interrupted, Love Sizzles, Love Always "Heaven" - Led by Judy Davenport. This study will use the book entitled Heaven" by Randy Alcorn as a guide. (Participants who sign up for this course will need to purchase their own copy of the book.) "The book of Revelation"- Led by David Steagall. This study will dive into the book of Revelation. (You know studying a difficult book like Revelation may take longer than six weeks. You will have the option to continue studying with this group after the six weeks is completed.) "The Way of the Master" - Led by Dean Jordan. This course will include many encouraging videos of engaging gospel conversations that, coupled with Dean's encouragement, are sure to have you much more confident to talk about Jesus with your friends, family, and perhaps even strangers. "Taste and See" - Led by our women's ministry, "Salty Sweet Sisterhood." The Psalmist declared, "Taste and see that the Lord is good" (Ps. 34:8), so Margaret Feinberg decided to take the invitation literally. She embarked on a global culinary and spiritual adventure. With each person she encountered, she asked, "How do you read the Scripture in light of what you do every day?" "The book of Jeremiah" - Led by Pastor Bobby. The prophets take up as much space in your Bible as the whole New Testament. We will discuss why: "It is imperative that Christ-followers read and understand the prophets." If you plan to attend one of these courses, please make sure you sign up online at cbclancaster.org. SEASON OF COVENANT RENEWAL During the month of October, each Covenant member is invited to reaffirm their commitment to Christs work through Covenant Baptist Church. CHURCH HOSTESS/HOST POSITION

The Personnel Committee is taking applications for anyone interested in the position for Church Hostess/Host. A complete job description is available in the church office. Resumes should be emailed by October 21st to [email protected].

Have you ever been sitting in your seat while the Covenant Choir was singing and wished you could sing along to the incredible song they were singing? Have you ever wanted to be a part of the choir just for a little while to see what it's like? This year, we are planning our Christmas performance like normal; but because of COVID, we are missing several voices. Big numbers like we have planned only sound right when there is a big crowd of excited people singing together. You can't pull it off with a limited number. If you are willing and/or interested, we would like to invite you to join the choir for a two-month commitment. Practices will begin next Wednesday, September 30th, at 7:00 p.m. We will rehearse each Wednesday through December 9th. There will be two BONUS rehearsals: Thursday, October 15th, and Sunday, November 15th. We are planning to celebrate the birth of our Redeemer and Rescuer big time this year with our Christmas Collection: There was Jesus! Pastor...Why are you using your newsletter space to make a plug for the choir??? This year, it is much bigger than just a regular Christmas musical. Remember our "Homework Center" at Covenant? Many of those kiddos don't go to church anywhere. Carsen and Tracey will have the kids involved because no kid's Christmas programs are going on this year. Pastor...Get to the point. The bottom line is that all of those kiddos are going to bring their families. They all want to see their little angels in the Christmas show. We need our choir on their "A" game because great singing and joyful faces will give a lot of support to the gospel message I plan to share with people who may have never heard it! We have a golden opportunity to reach people that we would not usually see. So, help us out and join the choir for a few weeks! There are no strings attached and no guilt if you only hang out through Christmas! Help us put our best foot forward and try to reach some new families with the gospel!
