Begindergarten Pre-KThis program is designed for a variety of student needs. Sometimes children are not ready for the rigors of kindergarten, or they are a summer baby and you feel that they would bene� t from an “in-between the preschool and kindergarten” program. Whatever the reason, this may be the class for your 4/5 year old (must be at least 4 by August 31). You can choose from a four-day schedule or a � ve-day schedule. This program focuses on kindergarten preparedness, social � nesse and a mastery of � ne and gross motor skills. The curriculum will continue their learning in all of the basic academic skills the students begin to learn in our 3-day program and build on those concepts. The students will become self-directed learners using their imaginations and problem-solving skills. There will be a fun balance of hands-on activities, art, language and math practice and science exploration.

We also have classes for 2 year olds, 3’s, and 4’s.

Black Diamond His-torical Society will Celebrate Welsh Heri-tage Day and the 30th Anniversary of the opening of the Black Diamond Museum on June 2, 2012, Noon to 4 p.m. The Welsh were the fi rst to come to this region from the Black Diamond coal fi elds of

Nortonville and Somersville, CA. They arrived shortly after the discovery of coal in the Green River Coal Fields in 1880 and promptly called their new town Black Diamond, WA.

On June 6, 1982 the Black Diamond Muse-um was opened in a gala celebration honoring the One Hundredth birthday of Black Dia-mond and the Welsh who fi rst came to make this town and how it came to be. An estimated 3,000 persons attended.

All are invited to join us in the days special activities and welcome keynote speaker Bri-an Parry, Past President of the Puget Sound Welsh Association, on a visual journey in “The Legacy of Welsh Coal Mining”.

A suggested donation of $5 would be greatly appreciated to support this and future Welsh Heritage Day events. (Children are free)
