Don’t be fooled, there are many basic techniques that on the surface sound basic but once explained and demonstrated can elevate every day dentures to a higher level. This 2-day course is designed to address the basics and beyond of denture construction as learned, modified and implemented by instructor, Mr. Thomas Zaleske, AS . It consists of PowerPoint presentation, over the shoulder demonstration and hands-on instruction. ‘The Basics’ topics include: the model bench, record/communication/optional tools, tooth arrangement to accommodate ridge form, waxing nature to portray realism and packing, processing and finishing conventional and optional microwave acrylics. The ‘Beyond the Basics’ topics include: tooth character through contour and color (OPTIGLAZE TM Color), base colorization using internal and external techniques (GRADIA ® Gum Shades) and metal and acetyl colorization (GRADIA ® ). Attendees please bring: Two processed, trimmed and pumiced pre-finished arches for tooth colorization and acrylic colorization, ready to mount F/F case for set-up and natural waxing instruction (models, rims and registration), 1 x 28 cards of denture teeth, loupes, lab coat and favorite waxing/carving tools. Mr. Thomas Zaleske, AS, has been a Dental Technician specializing in Removable Prosthetics for 30 years. Over that time, he has worked as an In-house Technician, Dental Laboratory Owner, Author, Technical Columnist, Product Developer, Product Manager, Technical Support Consultant and popular Lecturer, mostly concurrent. Mr. Zaleske’s varied experiences and time spent in Removable Prosthetics brings a broad depth of insight and when coupled with his unique and powerful communication skills, presents a memorable and impacting impression. GC America is proud to announce the addition of Mr. Zaleske as an opinion leader who has chosen GC America products to fabricate his dental prosthetics and share his successes in using those products. He is currently the 2017 National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL) Excellence in Education Award recipient.
