Course DescriptionThis course provides comprehensive training for carpentry per-apprentices, and covers all practical and theoretical aspects of the trade. They will learn the skills required necessary for the safe use and maintenance of a wide range of tools and equipment generally used on-the-job. Successful completion of this course will provide students with the practical skills and knowledge that will support further studies and future employment opportunities within the building and construction industry.

Pre-Course Experiences/Pre-requisitesNo pre-requisites to study this qualification, however, suitable for students: In year 11 and 12 who have a desire for being part of the Building Industry A completion of Certificate ll in Construction would be beneficial. Adequate Literacy & Numeracy Skills,

Structured Work PlacementStudents are required to undertake 140 hours of work placement. This is to be undertaken off site and must be clearly related to the student’s career pathway. A compulsory logbook must be kept and completed by student and work place provider.
