Global Model UN (261101R) (Cons EdSem 2) The Global Classrooms curriculum isdesigned to bring the United Nations into theclassroom. Each unit is devoted to a specific issue-area confronted by the UN. The lessons allowstudents to become immersed in internationalaffairs while building essential readingcomprehension, writing, public speaking anddebating skills. The curriculum featuressimulations of UN bodies in which students role-play as ambassadors from UN Member States. TheGlobal Classrooms curriculum offers an excitingand dynamic way to incorporate global issues intothe classroom experience. The course is presentedin two parts. One part deals with contemporaryhistory from World War 1 to the present. Anotherpart deals with the UN and its role in the World.The course concludes with a Model United NationsSimulation in which high schools throughout thecity will participate.
