About the course

The UCD Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree has a long tradition at the forefront of business and management education in Ireland. This is a degree that gives you a solid understanding of the business environment with the flexibility to pursue YOUR BComm – Option and elective choices throughout the degree allow you to hone your knowledge and skills in the area of business that interests you most and therefore, enables you to develop the skills, knowledge and insights to make a positive difference in business and society and achieve your ambitions.

First Year

In first year, you will learn about the foundations of business, how businesses work and their relationship with society. You will be challenged to read, think, debate and work in teams. First year modules unique to the UCD BComm include running a virtual business in ‘Business Live’ and taking control of your progress in ‘Effective Learning and Development’.

Second Year

In second year you will deepen your understanding of the business environment and its functions, ranging from Global Business, to People at Work, to Data Analytics and begin to choose business options to personalise your UCD BComm pathway. You have the opportunity to study abroad with our Exchange Programme, and to apply for an Internship with one of our national or international business partners.

Final Year

In final year, you integrate your UCD BCommexperience, with capstone modules in business strategy, entrepreneurship, management and personal development; while continuing to personalise your BComm pathway according to your interests and career goals through a large choice of module options.
