you AFTER you have submitted your course
requests on Genesis
PROCEDURE
Log into the Genesis Parent Portal at:
http://parents.fairlawnschools.org
Select the child who will be entering grades 9, 10,
11 or 12
Click the “Scheduling” tab, then the “Requests”
tab.
We recommend keeping a tab on your internet browser open with the
2019-2020 Course Prerequisites, which can be found at:

In EACH subject area, select “Request a Course”
You MUST select
the following
courses:

Physical Education
PROCEDURE You will only be permitted to request courses at
the same level you are currently in.
Select a course by clicking the green “Request
This Course” button on the right.
Students who meet the prerequisites to move up
a level (i.e. college prep to honors) will be
permitted to do so when they meet with their
Counselor individually.

Although the system will allow you to
select Priority 1 for electives in
different subject areas, you must only
choose one Priority 1, one Priority 2
and one Priority 3.

If you want to delete a course request, click the
Garbage Can icon to the right of it on the
“Requests” tab.
PROCEDURE On the “Requests” page, click the green “Submit”
button (top of screen) when you are ready to submit your requests
You must type the word “SUBMIT” in the pop up box to finalize your request
Once you submit your requests they will be locked and changes can only be made with your guidance counselor.
REVIEW You will choose a total of NINE (9) courses
Your schedule MUST include

Choose 2 alternates in case any of your 5 optional
