It is with great pleasure and pride in our students and staff that I introduce the exam results for 2015. Ofsted praised Haydon for the “particularly positive relationships between teachers and students,” which “ensures an excellent climate for learning”.

This is clearly borne out again by our 2015 examination results. The Year 13 A-level and BTEC National results were excellent: 51% of grades were at A* to B and 73% at A* to C.

The total number of students going on to University in September 2015 currently stands at 177 including 52 to Russell Group Universities, the most challenging to get into. You can see the types of University courses our 2015 students won and also where our top students chose to go, within this booklet. In Year 12 the results were also outstanding. Leading the way was the 36% of Haydon students awarded the highest grades of A and B. Our value added Year 12 and BTEC results have been judged independently by ALPS as ‘Outstanding.’

At GCSE, 70% of students gained 5 A* to C passes including English and Mathematics. 25% of all entries were graded A or A* and over 50% were graded A* to B. In mathematics, 79% of students achieved A* to C and in English Language the figure was 85%.

It is a huge strength of Haydon that the majority of our students stay with us from year 7 to year 13. Parents can be confident that their son or daughter will be guaranteed high quality education throughout the crucial secondary years.
