Thankyou,Donors!

A huge THANK YOU to ALL of our 1,243 community donors! We wish we had room to acknowledge each and

every one of you here!List does not include purchases of event tickets or registrations, auction item purchases, or inkind donations.

Every effort was made to ensure the accuracy of this list. Please accept our sincere apologies for any errors or omissions.

Jacob (4) and Kate (3) were in their second foster home with foster parents who were considering adoption. The CASA volunteer felt something was not right. She made a surprise visit, documented dangerous conditions, and got the children moved to safety. The CASA volunteer continued to be a voice for Jacob

and Kate until their recent adoption into a loving home. She says, “Children can tell when someone truly cares about them. As a CASA volunteer that is what I am here for – to truly care about these children and make sure their world turns as smoothly as possible for the situation they are in.”

Sophia (14) lived in six different foster homes within two years, changing schools nearly every time. She had fallen far behind in math. Her CASA volunteer met with Sophia’s teachers, helped to get her on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and supported Sophia through her coursework. Sophia is now entering high school with significantly improved grades. She has decided that she wants to become a scientist.

David (5) suffered from mental health issues after witnessing his mother abused by multiple boyfriends. David’s CASA volunteer coordinated regular “team” meetings with everyone essential to a successful outcome: David’s counselor, attorney, foster parents, and

DHS case worker, as well as David’s mother and her counselor. The CASA volunteer built strong relationships with each member as she monitored the progress of David and his mother. David’s mother did well in counseling and domestic violence services, and David’s mental health problems improved. David recently returned home to his mother, safe and healthy.

Chris (6) and Jacob (7) had a CASA volunteer who was shocked to discover that the boys were on numerous medications for behaviors she had never witnessed. The CASA pored over the doctor’s reports and questioned the necessity of the medications. She pushed - and succeeded - for Chris and Jacob to be reunited and adopted with their two younger brothers. Today, Chris is not taking a single medication, and Jacob is on just one low dosage.
